Valium should not be taken for more than 3 weeks at a stretch. Even that is is pushing it as it is really only supposed to be taken for anxiety attacks. Long term use can fuck you up something awful. You've been warned.

I once lived in Brazil for a year awhile back and because prescription meds are often given without scripts especially to foreigners I did Valium and alcohol together every night.

You do build a tolerance for it and need more to get the same effect over time and it was a shitty withdrawal when finally decided to quite (as in moved back to the US).

you might want to take it for as the Dr order. A week on Valium is not going to be great for remembering to bring cookies to the kids stuff but might be awesome with getting you through this stretch.

Another thing to try is say why am I depressed? Make a list. See what things you are working on. What you can farm out. What you can ignore. Sometimes depression is caused by some real shit in your life. Solve, push off, whatever, the real stuff and see if it helps.

Otherwise, anti depresessents have a bad name but can be helpful. why not try them? I get that one of the problems with depression is you are depressed. So you don't do much. I get it. Just try one or two of these things and use th extra energy to get along term control on the issue.

I would stay away from any kind of benzos as much as possible.

I would actually rather recommend weed a couple of times per week than that zombie med.

But it is up to everyone.

Working out is the best though

I 100 percent agree with the addiction part. However, it is hard to beat a couple of xanax for an international 10 hour flight. It is the only time I take them. The best flight I ever had was from LA to Amsterdam. Took a few Xanax an hour before the flight, fell asleep before take off, and woke up in Amsterdam.

Benzos are so damn addicting I wouldnt even take them for more than a day or two straight. I have read many articles that say they are safe to take for weeks at a time. I have never done that, but I dont see how that is possible,
