Workable but requires too much additional labor. Example: checking to make sure Mark didn't take too many sick days. Doesn't allow employees to easily see how many vacation days they have used, how many they have left, etc.

Ages ago I worked for a company with a boss like that for about 4 months, thanks god things weren't as technically advanced then as they are now.

I have a similar philosophy. This is not for punishment. This is for organization and companywide awareness.

Couple good suggestions, thanks, would like to see some more though. A simple spreadsheet or a Google Document is not sufficient.

My friend that has a startup with ≈30 people has nothing but horrible things to say about them.
