    All the protest about cops.. yet nothing about inmate deaths..

    The police shootings have been making big news all around the county, yet it's roughly 1,029 people killed by police in 2014. That's for the entire country.

    Meanwhile in Florida alone 346 inmates died while in custody which has prompted a federal investigation.

    It makes me wonder what the number is for the entire country. I bet it dwarfs the number of police shootings and there is barely any talking about it.
    In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

              One of my ex-girlfriends is locked up in a Florida prison right now and I go visit her a couple of times a month, there is all kinds of crooked shit going on in there that she tells me about. Luckily she only has a few months left to go on her sentence.

                                      Would it matter? If the environment allows inmates to kill other inmates, that's not exactly responsible and secure, no? Just playing devil's advocate, but let's say you went to prison on some bogus charge ... you can't leave, you can't snitch, you can't do shit .. and someone can stab you. Doesn't sound that great.

                                          It does not matter.. However many of them are under investigation due to them likely being murders by the prison guards. One was boiled alive in an extremely hot shower.. The inmate was put into the shower as punishment. (that one made national news) another was an inmate whom was gassed to death by being locked in a closed cell with no ventilation and the guards either pepper sprayed him or used some sort of gas canister. Another was in a wheel chair and found hung to death at a height the person could have never reached..the guards called it a suicide.

                                          The simple fact is once an inmate is in custody, they are the responsibility of the state. That means the state has to keep them safe. If they were not given the death penalty or life in prison there is no reason anyone should die while in custody aside from illness. Out side of that the state should be held liable for any deaths.

                                                  At any given time there are more than 100,000 felons in Florida's prison system. Some are pretty fucked-up dudes. So are the people who apply for the job to guard them. I'm surprised the number isn't higher.
