That's the way my family felt during the revolution. They were called "Loyalists." After the war they were called "Canadians." Had all their property seized and were forced out of the country. This is not taught in American schools. Our history books make it seem as if everyone in the colonies hated Britain and wanted independence. This is simply not true. Many were loyal to the Crown and wished to remain English. They were persectuted after the war. A patriot is just a terrorist that won.

Yes there is free speech in the USA. She was oversea's when she said what she said. Why in the hell would someone want to go to another country and dog this countrys leader?

Unless of course you live in a major city. Just about every major city in the country including NYC passed anti-war resolutions. In the cities, if you're for the war, you're treated like a pariah.

And when it is taught it is glamorized (e.g. Boston Tea Party). I am an American and proud to be one. Just using the American revolution to point out that when you win you are no longer the bad guy AND you get to write the history books!

Nah, I understand that a club of 800 buttrockers(3 registered voters) isn't indicitive of the population as a whole.
