It's always about skill though. Being tall and having a reach is usually just as much of a disadvantage as an advantage. A guy with a reach is useless when the opponent is inside or too close for him to extend his arm to generate any kind of power with punching. Cormier got beat on all fronts, even got taken down 3 times and he'd never been taken down yet... and then he started to gas out. I don't think he ever had to work that hard in a fight..

dc is 5 10 , thas my same height and I cant fucking imagine going against someone like jones with his reach.
They looked like different weight classes.
When I played competitively, height and reach was a major advantage amd I beleive height and reach were the biggest factors here more than anything else.
Sure smaller compact people have some advantages but height and weight usually outweigh them

Thats definitely true. He sure looked like it when he sat down. His own corner knew they had a real problem as well - they were basically talking to him like they were talking to a child with their tone. "do you want it". He couldn't get a take down. If he got inside, he couldn't make real happen, he can't clinch for shit and Jones caught him with some elbows on the inside, kept taking him down etc. Jones is just a better fighter. A bigger dick for sure. But a better fighter..

BUT Jones didnt REALLY win the fight. Sure he won on points but it wasn't like he destroyed dc even whem Dc lost his own wind towards the end.

he said he held him on the cage and it wasn't a sexy win..

Remove reach of legs , arms and his overall size and this was a very different fight.

I picked jones to win v dc. Hes a better overall fighter for his weight class. But one of the main reasons is his body compositions, thats clear to me.
