I run a few large foodie sites for some clients. At one point, they were pulling 90% of their traffic from Facebook. In the past year plus, that number has dropped to about 4%.

No porn ads allowed on Facebook.

But if they ever sell pop ups for cams -- count me in

Traffic from Facebook is from user links and guerrilla pages.

Twitter is more porn friendly for user accounts but does not accept ads to porn, adult dating or cams.

models are on facebook building their client base from there part time... it is not that hard. I hear Swedish girls on facebook make a good buck.

Facebook traffic converts amazingly. But yes, most people did lose FB as a source in the last 6 months..

Interesting. Where is majority of their traffic coming from now? Have they been using Facebook actively over the past year or did they just let it sit there?

Pinterest and Instagram even top Google most days. But remember, these are women and recipes we are talking about.

Facebook is still used, but they would rather you pay for placement...which has been the worst traffic buying experience I have ever had the pleasure of being part of.

The problem with Facebook is that the are limiting the reach of your posts. One of the sites I manage has over 100k followers. Reach is about 1% on average for most posts at the moment. It's nuts.

I've gotten a lot of mileage out of Twitter. I took a hit after Google bought it, but it's still far more viable (for me) than the others named. (Funny how Google champions net neutrality - when it suits them.)

Adult social resides mostly in dating sites. As I mentioned in another thread, there are some guerrilla techniques that can be used there, but you kind of have to be a slime to do it on a large scale. It works for individual cam models, but even then there's a little bit of a misleading expectation for the consumer.
