2015: Hopeful For The New Year Or Worried (Or Both)?

2014 is coming to an end. It's been a wild ride for The Porn Nerd this past year. Opening a new Program (Erotic Revenue), acquiring an entire Network of 40 paysites and yet another Affiliate Program (Aggressive Dollars), traveling to the EU shows, laying the groundwork for my tubesite project, re-designing Tours and beefing up Members Areas, revisitng billing options, promoting cams and dating via WLs - wow!

So as 2015 approaches how do YOU feel about the future of your business and the Adult Industry as a whole? Are you hopeful? Worried and anxious? A little bit of both?

If I've learned anything in my 6 years of being in this crazy business it's this: change is constant. Selling anything online can feel like a rollercoaster ride. You prepare the best you can, you try and roll with the punches...but THE most important thing is to get up off the floor and keep going, keep trying, never stop. Why? Because someone else, perhaps your main competition, will also falter at times, run into stumbling blocks or challenges, and this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. Hey, you never know!

So Good Luck to everyone and their business in 2015. Let's all make next year our Best Year Ever!

Mr.Nerd, fair play to you fella. We're a couple of years behind your business in terms of where we're at, but with a new site launching before the end of 2014 (fingers crossed!) and another before Q2 2015, this year is the year we're stepping up and taking our business to the next level.
Considering the current climate, we've done well this year and no reason to think the upward trend won't continue!

I am both excited and optimistic.

YNOT continues to grow and has no issues.

Dating Factory is launching a new product in January and has some new staff members coming on board.... and the US marketing is now dominating the company which is great for me.

Everything else is just peachy.

I'm pretty confidant that 2015 will beat 2014 in sales and revenue.

We got a lot coming up for 2015 which all together will make it an interesting year to say the least. Opening up the cam platform to affiliates in a proper way, new sites in new geos, a complete rebuild of the Tainster.com network and probably a lot of adhoc changes along the way.

Of course anything can happen but in the end if you're worried you should probably be looking for an exit, a 180 degrees turn, some drastic changes or a shit ton of luck. And well building your business on luck is not the proper way to do it ;)

Reality is that it will not get easier any time soon but with a proper plan and vision I believe that anything is possible. People are still paying for porn, it's up to you to figure out how and what.

I can't speak for all paysites obviously but I have found that many paysites "find their level" and it's hard to bust out of that level without a massive infusion of new traffic sources. So sometimes sales can dip 50% but to me that is odd so I would go over my shit with a fine tooth comb to see if anything is broken.

This depends greatly on traffic, how old the site is, etc etc etc.
