Speakin' of Sony...my first video cam

And to think it was 'state-of-the-art' when it was new in 1985.

    Now it's a fossil.

Hell, my SG4 smartphone records far superior video these days...and fits in my shirt pocket.

    Some days I feel...old.

      Indeed.

And despite being awkward and clunky-lookin' by today's standards - it was surprisingly rugged and well-built. Shot a helluva lot of footage with it for over 10 years, all of which I still have.

Some people pay to collect these beauties. I do collect vintage (but still working) film cameras and they cost a lot.

            I saw a few on eBay (non-working) for parts-only $30-40 range.

The batteries were notorious for buildin' memory back then. Lucky to get a half-hour life from a 2hr. battery after they were a year old.

Heh...this reminded me that I have 2 unopened S-VHS tapes downstairs that've been there for over 10 years. TDK's I think.
