    Shot in the back of the head while lying on the ground by cops.

    I thought Brassmonkey would be all over this one.
    Attorney: Hooks shot in the back and head during raid
    David Hooks was shot in the back and head as he was lying face down on the floor during a drug raid by Laurens County deputies.

    That's according to the lawyer representing his family.

    It's been nearly four months since David Hooks was shot to death during a drug raid at his East Dublin home.

    13WMAZ's Paula Rotondo spoke to his wife, Teresa Hooks and the family's lawyer, Mitchell Shook.

    Hooks died Sept. 24 while deputies served a search warrant at his home.

    They were looking for drugs, but didn't find any.

      What people also don't realize is that a lot of these copS in these situations end up killing themselves.

      My girlfriend's ex had someone in his custody pull a gun. The had a stand off and the guy shot himself. 6 months later her ex took his own life.

      I wouldn't be surprised it more cops kill themselves than they kill other people.

          What's the talking point for this one? if you don't want to be killed by the cops then don't be in a location that is suspected of housing drugs?

              When they have the wrong information you or anyone could be a suspect..then wham...you are dead.

              No drugs were found.

                      A Georgia SWAT team shot and killed an armed homeowner during a September 24 drug raid sparked by the word of a self-confessed meth addict and burglar who had robbed the property the previous day. No drugs were found. David Hooks, 59.

                          Being a cop in this day and age CAN'T be easy but something is wrong with the system if WHEN it happens there is no justification and no "justice" for some of the shooting victims.

                                  I'm actually of the opinion that this has been happening for a while, but only in recent times has it come to light because now cameras are everywhere and everyone has some kind of social media so getting the word out is easy.

                                  Not too long ago most of these cases would have been local news for a few days then just faded away.

                                          it was a no-knock raid by dudes in hoods with weapons at 11 pm at an innocent man's home whom had been burglarized and had a car stolen 2 night prior

                                          you wouldn't grab one of your many assault rifles and defend your wife and family?

                                          what do you have all those assault rifles for then?

                                              The warrant — which was acquired only 1 hour before the raid — had been founded on information provided by the very same burglar who had stolen the Hooks’ Lincoln Aviator SUV two nights prior. The self-described thief and meth-addict was Rodney Garrett, who alleged that he had obtained drugs from inside the vehicle he had stolen from David and Teresa Hooks.

                                                          Before I pass judgement on anyone I'd have to know exactly what the SWAT team looked like, when they identified themselves, how much time they gave the homeowner to process what was happening before they shot him, etc.... It really comes down to the fine details.

                                                          But I will say that I am against no knock raids except in very serious cases, of which this was not.

                                                                          Drugs aren't important enough to do these type of raids ever.

                                                                          Cops have made drugs the "trophy arrest" and this is why they act this way.
                                                                          When do they raid a pedo's house like this???? Fucking never.
                                                                          But if it's drugs they bring in the swat team even if it's just a $10 bag of dope.
