I don't think that some rectal dehydration will come as a norm, even if USA would put up an some advertising campaign for it.

Yeah but information obtained by torture rarely yields useful data. The FBI admonished the CIA on this pointing out they got much better results with a more empathic style of interviewing vs interrogation process.

I tend to believe the people executing this torture regime may have been the type who enjoyed themselves greatly. The key here is to know whether they knew for sure that they were dealing with actual al-qaeda members.
