So the adult awards season is here. I will first state that as a 12 year industry vet running a modest, but respected successful adult company I have never once been nominated for any award at all, none, zilch, squat. So perhaps I am subconsciously bitter. (I am not really though)
What i am curious about is what process is used to pick the winners? I looked at this list for this category today.

Sour grapes aside, but some of these folks have the exact product they had last year, in fact some that I see have less innovation then in previous years.
Couldn't the non-award nominees, the lowly voters, be at least humored with a byline describing said innovation? Couldn't a panel, slim down this list to something remotely interesting to contemplate voting on.
Just food for thought, we struggle with others taking us seriously while not really even taking ourselves seriously when so little effort could make it appear that we do.
Congrats for those that are nominated. I truly don't mean to take away from anyone of them as I know that they are out there, struggling, posting and working. It was not meant to be a slight that they did what it took to get nominated and I didn't.
I would just be interested in seeing the best of the best that someone put some thought into. The best of the best is in there to be sure, they are lumped together in somewhat of a lazy fashion with anyone that filled out a few forms or sent a few Skypes.
