We all like to think we know what is going on "below us" - in this case, meaning the guards knowing about the dirty little dealings going on behind their backs. And usually this is not the case.

I ran ICS for a while, and I thought I was pretty smart. We had a staff of thirty or forty people. I thought I knew what was going on. I am still friends with a lot of former employees, and years later I discovered there was so much I did know.

Just... wow. Looks like there is now a second, confirmed victim:

Anti-pornography activist Donny Pauling Jr. faces new criminal charges alleging statutory rape of a second victim.
Pauling was arrested Dec. 1 after a 16-year-old girl told Sutter County sheriff's deputies that Pauling, 41, had ongoing sexual contact with her for the past three years. He is scheduled to appear in Sutter County Superior Court today in a preliminary hearing in that case.

The second alleged victim was identified when evidence was presented to Yuba City police in mid-December. The evidence suggested Sutter County sheriff's Capt. Lewis F. McElfresh Jr. watched Pauling have sex with a minor related to McElfresh.
Deputy District Attorney Anu Chopra filed a nine-count criminal complaint naming Pauling in that case on Wednesday. The charges alleged four incidents of unlawful sex with a minor.

The suggestion there are additional victims has been made in court by Chopra and District Attorney Amanda Hopper.
Investigators are in the process of interviewing eight minor girls as potential victims of Pauling, according to a declaration filed by Sutter County sheriff's Lt. James Casner. Some of those girls live in Glenn and Butte counties.

Chopra said she will ask for a bail enhancement for Pauling, which, if granted, would increase his bail from $500,000 to $1 million. He is housed in Colusa County Jail.

McElfresh was charged with multiple felony sex crimes relating to the alleged incident involving his relative.
He is currently housed in Yolo County Jail with bail set at $5 million.

I am sure they would. I doubt they could legally withhold mail if you follow their guidelines. A massive % of the total lawsuits filed are inmates suing for their oatmeal being the wrong temperature or the toilet paper is too soft or whatever. Imagine if they weren't getting their mail?

Deputy District Attorney Anu Chopra submitted 10 photos of the girl into evidence. Some of the photos included the girl posing topless, exposing her bottom, and some included other minors.

The girl told detectives she felt that if she slept with him, that he would buy her things or let her go on trips.

Once, when taking a shower, she found a recording device in the vent, she said. She told the detective that when she asked Pauling about it, he said he wanted to know what her body looked like. She said they threw the device in the river.

According to Sutter County sheriff's Detective Robert C. Brokenbrough, Pauling first made inappropriate comments to the first victim about her lips and bottom. The comments turned into sexual acts, and Pauling first had sex with the girl in the summer of 2014. She said he used a condom until he had a vasectomy. Brokenbrough interviewed the teen girl three times, between Nov. 30 and Jan. 28. The girl told him that Pauling bought her lingerie — which detectives discovered in his bedroom — and photographed her in erotic and sexualized poses. She said Pauling uploaded the photos to Reddit.com Deputy District Attorney Anu Chopra submitted 10 photos of the girl into evidence. Some of the photos included the girl posing topless, exposing her bottom, and some included other minors. The girl told detectives she felt that if she slept with him, that he would buy her things or let her go on trips. Once, when taking a shower, she found a recording device in the vent, she said. She told the detective that when she asked Pauling about it, he said he wanted to know what her body looked like. She said they threw the device in the river.
