    I'm popular

    Say what you want about GFY, but GFY has taught me the subtle art of creating interesting posts and getting page views.

    My hometown has a local Facebook group and since it's creation I have slowly been trolling the group, posting my "selfies with sunglasses", and starting interesting posts that get a lot of attention. The running joke in our town is that we no longer have a Taco Bell, so recently I dressed up as a construction worker and went to a construction site and announced that they weren't building a gas station, but instead a Taco Bell and ended up getting a lot of comments. Everywhere I go here in town people know who I am and just come up out of the blue to introduce myself. Local businesses - mostly restaurants - invite me to visit them.

    Last night was typical. It's well known here in town that I freaking love pizza, and last night we went out to new pizza place to try them out. Son of a bitch... They had a picture of me behind the counter with instructions to call the owner if I ever showed up. We had already eaten by the time he showed up, but he gave me my meal for free and made me a "special pizza" to take home.





    Of course it ended up on Facebook.

    I am also consulting for a few people on Facebook - Not for money, but more to figure out how to do it and just for kicks. Any tips would be great.

              a guy I know likes to rub it in how popular he is on facebook, mentioning how he has over 250 friends on there. A while back he invited me to his birthday bash along with all those 250 "friends".

              I was the only person outside his family to show up at the party.

                                                                              It doesn't matter what they think you do for a living. What matters is that they know you and you're obviously no capitalizing on that.

                                                                              Let's put it this way, how much are you making currently? I'd venture a guess around $100K-120K/year, base salary, commision and affiliate income combined. And considering the current state of the industry I may even be generous.

                                                                              Does that make for a reasonably comfortable living? Probably. But if it's true that everyone in your town knows you, then you could be at $40K-$50K A MONTH within a year or less. Then double that within another year, with only some moderate effort. If you did it right, of course.
