Nikon D3200 (24.2 mp) is on sale at Staples right now for $460 CAD. It's usually closer to $600. Might find one similar at other stores or websites too.
There's also a 20 mp Coolpix model for $129. Cheapest Nikon I've ever seen advertised. Must be a black friday deal.
Either would be a good starter, but the D3200 also takes 1080p video.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

Good photos start with a little study....not with cameras

i guess good photos comes from the passion of the photographer. you dont hafto undergo formal study as long as you know how to be creative 😊Comment

Formal study helps teach you how to be creative - how to think out of the box. Psychology studies in sensation and perception, implied motion...all help. You can have all the passion in the world - yet still turn out mediocre images. Formal training helps you think in ways outside the normal.
Good photos come from the skill and experience of the photographer...a photographer who knows the capabilities of his equipment and how to make the most of it.
The best photos come from taking risks and shooting in sometimes dangerous places most people won't try. I know - been doing it for decades and getting shots what other more timid photographers wouldn't attempt.
Look at my avatar shot. A buddy and I rapelled down in total darkness to the bottom of a frozen gorge at night to light-paint a frozen waterfall with several 1MCP porta-sun spotlights. Every step we took was treacherous (even with boot cleats), it was cold and misty from the water spray. But we caught images the average person wouldn't dare try.Comment

Any recent DSLR model should do, just make sure you don't use Auto. Otherwise, you might as well get yourself a point-and-shoot.Comment
