"They are trying to lock me up and put me in jail again. Without a lawyer I am defenceless, so this might be the last public appearance - if I go back to jail you can say this was the one..."

He said the bid to extradite him had "drained my resources and dehydrated me" and that he had no lawyers and was defenceless.

Dotcom's legal team, behind his three year-long $10 million battle to fend off extradition to America, has dropped him as a client.

He has a new lawyer, Ron Mansfield, who succeeded on Monday in getting a bail hearing delayed until he could read the files. But his bail conditions have been tightened and he is no longer allowed to use helicopters, travel by boat and must remain within 80 kilometres of his home.
