is it worth to renew .xxx domains

we have got few .xxx domains from last few years and now once again time of renewal has comes up... is it worth to keep .xxx domain or just let it go.... not traffic but on search engine when look by name....

They may be expensive, certainly. But even at $100 apiece, it's not real difficult to double your money back annually. If you think in terms of volume, having a 100% ROI is not exactly a bad thing.

Yes but it is unlikely you are doubling your money because of the domain alone on each name. It's usually your other work which doubles your money and not just the domain itself. If it were otherwise people would buy 25,000+ names (.xxx or otherwise) and do very little with them and we all know that isn't happening. In fact people tend to be dropping domains more and more.

I'd say it's worth keeping if you have a premium domain worth >$1000 or if the domain is part of a brand you control and you want to secure the .xxx. Otherwise you can almost buy 10+ other domains for the price of one .xxx domian.

Of course. I am just saying that anytime you buy a domain, regardless of extension, if it's not paying for itself after a year, then you are the reason for that. And that was my point to the OP, if you are not making double the reg fee from it, and no plans to do anything with it, then there's no point keeping it (unless it's a future investment).

That's just the benchmark I have for myself at renewal time. If, by the time a domain renews, I am not making double the renewal fee, then I'll likely just let it expire. Every asset must pay for itself in some aspect or it's no longer worth anything to me.
