Try wiredtree.com, it works great with my script and I host several domain without problems. Support is really great.

So it's not a problem with the host, but rather you had no idea what an unmanaged server was when you purchased it?

So why don't you just recompile apache/php with the modules you need and then update phpconfig ? What's so hard about that ?

I know what unmanage server is. I also I know they gave me a bad box in the past.

#1 - OVH is UNmanaged so you should know how to setup and maintain a server, if not then you need to get a managed provider. Your current VPS can run Mechbunny just fine, just install the right packages and set it up.

#2 - Why did you go with OVH Classic for Mechbunny? I have an OVH Classic VPS and I can tell you that there is no way I would ever use it in a production environment, uptime for the month is at 97.4% which is terrible and their nodes are overloaded on the Classic line. OVH is great for cheap dedicated servers but their Classic VPS line is not so great.

You could either check out the different 3rd party server management companies or get a managed vps (someone already mentioned Wired Tree which is an excellent managed provider).

Try checking out some linux tutorials, there's soooo many decent tutorials on literally every aspect of running you own web server.

no managed host is going to be close to OVH on pricing OVH is one of the cheapest hosts out there.

Get cpanel. Install trial version. Set php handler to DSO. I had this issue. I have a dedicated and it would have knocked all other sites offline. I got a vps for Mechbunny.

Do that and you'll be fine.

No, but I host my script there, and I'm sure it can handle that script too.

Just create dir if doesn't exist /var/lib/php/sessions
Put apache user and group write access on it
Modify in php.ini session dir to /var/lib/php/sessions
Restart apache
It must be work fine.
