It's pretty decently warm in San Francisco right now. Tomorrow, however, I will be in New York City, where I am sure it'll be a lot colder.

This summer I shot hoops and biked twenty miles a day - and lost thirty pounds in the process. I still have a long way to go and want to be down under 200 lbs by the end of next summer. (That's a realistic goal.) I will not let winter slow me down. I live in California and it doesn't snow here, so I am doing my best to keep my regular routine. I've bought some warmer work out clothes and have moved my workouts to the late afternoon when it's warmer and... So far so good.

Tonight I bought a freaking hat so I can bike when it's colder out. I haven't owned a fucking hat in twenty years.

I have friends who have snow piled up over their front door, 40 miles from me. My girl is 20, she's got over a foot.

I can see the grass in my back yard. It's fucking cold, but so long as the snow isn't piling up...I'm good.

It's hard for me to miss Summer considering we never really got much of a Summer in the first place.

But yeah the cold sucks and i am not looking forward to the snow which is due here soon... Roll on Spring!

I don't believe I've seen anything under 70F since I got here in February. So no, not missing the cold - but I do miss the changing of the seasons. My internal calendar is all fucked up.

as for the cold..fuck yes. it feels like january here..

During the summer I play basketball at 8am, and ride at noon and then again at 6pm or 7pm depending on how hot it is. Now that winter is setting in I still play basketball in the morning, but usually only one ride at 3pm, the warmest time of the day. I try to make up for it on weekends.

As for my family, My kid has sports three nights a week and then coaches the other two nights, plus has events on weekends. The past two weekends she had day long events in Sacramento, so I put my bike in the back of the Jeep, showed up for her events, she did her coaching thing while I went for a long bike ride, and then we drove home together. My wife runs a business after hours and is always on the go so I don't see her too much during the week. Both of them were off last night so we had dinner together, which was a real treat for us all.

Keep in mind I also start work at 6am, and I usually put in a few hours at night answering emails. I use weekends to catch up on anything I missed.
