Business Time to Expand or Contract? (In your business )

Went over to the gym today and the wife was signing up again. She had to wait in a line as the puter was slow but after getting to the front she found out they have a special on the yearly plan.

Normally the year plan is about 900$ with full access to the gym. They are running a special for 500$ for the same plan. Save 400 dollars.

In the mean time the gym has a lot of issues and they need to fix them. Roof leaks in a number of places and some of the drywall has fallen from the ceiling as well as some broken mirrors and some machines that needs repairs.

They also have sold off part of the floor space to a Boxing/fight ring company and are now moving out part of the Cross fit for something else, I dont know what.

    So it got me thinking.

When business gets slow for you, do you expand or contract?

Do you run specials to bring in people ?

I have always been of a mind that in flagging sales its time to expand and improve and move forward. Get a whole new crowd to buy from you.

    What do you do?

That's pretty expensive for an annual gym membership even at $500. Here in Fort Lauderdale, there are over a dozen gyms within five minutes of my house so one can get an annual membership as low as $150 or so.

no kidding, around here you get a pretty nice gym with a pool / sauna / etc for $100/month... low end, but still usable if you are not looking for anything fancy, gyms go for probably $20/month...
