There is no problem know to man that cannot be solved by the application of American air power. Just as there was no problem between Trafalgar and the sinking of Repulse and Prince of Wales off the Malaya Peninsula that could not be solved by a well aimed broad-side.
That just makes me think what a bunch of dumb asses the military are. They used missiles costing how much to blow up a flag? Seriously?
All that firepower just to destroy a flag. Ooh, well done lads, mission accomplished! Now, how about finding the ISIS fanatics, who are slightly more of a danger to us than their flag, and blowing them up in their numbers. Then we can feel slightly more impressed!
yes but no...
a flag is too cheap to produce.
If you spend a million to annihilate a flag that costs next to nothing on a void hill, you are losing your money...
Perhaps you should read about that day.... It's less about how they got the flag up there, but instead what happened the moment the put it up. It's a great story.
I hope very last one of those fuckers chokes on a 2000 pounder. They're looking strong now and lashing out, but not being able to move freely without explosive ordinance dropping on them will wear them down after a while. I'd bet half of them don't have the will to take a long haul pounding and will eventually bug out and go back to their pathetic lives. You know those are the ones who sign up for ISIS...they have a meaningless existence.

Then they'll go into hiding, pretending to be innocent civilians, and will resort to car bombings.
