If you buy a PS3 with 3.55 firmware off ebay you can easily install custom firmware then fill a 2TB external USB drive with your game rips.
I still buy hard copies but its way more convenient this way. Ironically Sony has made made more money off me than they would have if the PS3 was never jail-broken.

PS3, I had an xbox360 and it spent more time being repaired at MS than sitting at my house. anyway, I don't know why but the PS3 just felt better as a games machine.

Playstation has tons of exclusives...and really good ones. Uncharted and God of War series are not to be missed if you love games.
Xbox has Halo and Gears of War...and Gears of War.

The xbox is more of a hackers machine. Easier to jailbreak. The controller feels better in your hands, a better online experience, although the Xbox Live membership isn't (completely) free like the PS3 community is. Some games (very few) are in full HD on PS3 and only 720P on an Xbox360. A handfull have a higher framerate because the PS3 is just more stable and better hardware. PS3 has no 'Red Ring of Death' and bugs like that. Graphics wise, some games look better on MS, some on Sony, but the difference is hardly noticable. O M G! I loved my Atari 2600 back in the day! HAHA I remember having to slam the cartridges against the palm of your hand to get heavily used games to work.. Then again I'm so old I had the original Pong console..
I've had my same PS3 since the summer of 2006 when it first came out and it still works like the day I bought it. I'm not so much a gamer but I use it as my main blu ray player daily. I've thought about getting the PS4 but really since I'm not a gamer I'll just buy a new blu ray.. But I am thinking about getting the Wii U next month.
I'd go with PS3 for the reliability cause really they both have the same games and they are both outdated and prolly dirt cheap now.Comment
