How to handle the french economic crisis ?

Everything is explained in these links:

France?s President Sarkozy gets new presidential aircraft - Public Sector Travel : Public Sector Travel

France?s new presidential plane took off recently with Nicolas Sarkozy aboard for the first time as he flew to the G20 summit in Seoul in the newly refitted aircraft. The cost of purchase and refit of the secondhand Airbus 330-200, nicknamed Air Sarko One, came to ?156 million before tax, although the sale of two ex-governmental Airbus A319 planes is likely to bring the net cost down to an estimated ?96 million, according to Colonel Pollet of the French air force.

The French press have run riot with the story, speculating over full-sized bath tubs and pizza ovens in the plane?s supposedly flashy interior. And although government spokesman Luc Chatel said there would be nothing ?ostentatious? about the plane, he did add that it would be of a standard suitable for ?the fifth world power?.

The narrative traces the scenes of the campaign, with delicious scenes. At the Nice meeting from April 20, for example, a buffet of victory brought Nicolas Sarkozy and a few guests handpicked at the end of his speech. "An ingredient was decorated with all sauces: truffle", says the investigation, which Le Nouvel Observateur published this week the good leaves. "It smelled like truffles in all corridors. I felt very embarrassed...

Why would ANYONE need a fucking pizza oven in a fucking airplane?

          Ever?

I can understand it if you have unlimited cash, but not for a government plane.

Governments spend like crazy because they can.

There was a controversy in my city when they found out that the city planners officer had left over money at the end of year. Instead of just saying the office had come in under budget they scrambled to spend the money to make certain they would get it again the next year. So they threw a big party for themselves then bought a couple of computers that are only used to run the office fantasy sports pools.

They didn't need it, but it wasn't their money so they spent.

Inflated budget,....use it or loose it, tax money must be spent in order for them to show spending. 101

Yep. And it is sad. If they don't need that much money one year it should go back into the general fund or be used somewhere else where there was a shortfall on the budget instead of wasting it just for the sake of making sure they get it again the next year.

That statement is funny because nobody has unlimited cash, except governments
