I think hipster bikes are "fixies" (fixed gear), skinny wheels and no brakes, like this:

The bike I built has a coaster brake inside the rear hub. It's more of a beach cruiser imho:

What is the point of such construction? What are advantages lets say against a hybrid bike?

The bike is meant for cruising. If by advantage you are referring to performance or utility, then it has no advantages over a hybrid. A hybrid bike has more utility and will outperform a beach cruiser bike any day of the week.

Actually it was easier than I had imagined. The tire fit on relatively easy, it the inner tube that requires some "massaging" to fit snug.

Here's a picture of how the that tire fits on a normal 2.175 inch rim:

And here's how it looks stretched out on my 4 inch rim.

I never drove (or even saw) cruiser bike live so excuse my ignorance - why can't you cruise on hybrid bike (or any other "common" bike)? Are there any usability benefits (except the style which is "cool")?

Oh you can definitely cruise on any other type of bicycle...just like one can cruise driving any car like Toyota Prius.

Personally I enjoy the two-speed gearing as well as the seating position with the feet forward design. The rest of the bike is for show.

You need to take you bike down to Hermosa Beach and ride down the strand on a weekend.

Strand:A paved path, called The Strand, runs along Hermosa's beach from Torrance Beach in the south approximately twenty miles north to Santa Monica and the Hermosa Beach pier is at the end of Pier Avenue, which is one of the beach community's main shopping, eating and partying areas.)

Yeah I have ridden there many times in the Santa MOnica section. I never realized it extended that far to Hermosa though! I plan to be there this month,

If anyone else is interested in custom/vintage bike culture, check out this video:

I plan to attend the 2015 show next year with a more custom show worthy bike.

Only downside to this - you may look like a wannabe gang banger on a bike like that. Or if you are white - like wannabe wiggah, lol

OHHH Man!! I grew up down there.

My boy Dino owns Pisano's Pizza down there.

I lived on the Esplanade for 10 years. I would fly gliders outside my front door and ride the strand daily and ride my bike to Jui-Jitsu daily. Some really good times.

I live in Woodlandhills now and traded my bike in for a video camera. lol

I still have my "We The People" trick bike and I have my "Lightspeed" 21 speed bike. I Should actually ride them someday. Just no good places out here to ride.

I pick up my beast tomorrow and thinking of the frame i like the Ruff Cycles Tango but where i ride up and down pavement i think it would be too low i see they do some outer frames or thinking about getting one made from scratch.
Sounds cool!

But remember, you will most likely need to swap out the rear coaster brake hub from the rear wheel. The stock hub is pretty wide and will not fit on most other frames. It's not a difficult procedure, it is just detailed because of the need to re-lace the wheel with a new different length spoke. Lacing wheel's aren;t too dificult, there's tons of youtube videos out there explain it.

But if you do get a frame made from scratch, tell the builder to make the frame's rear wide enough fit the rear hub. That will save you some time.
