I have hosted with GoDaddy since 2006 and can also say that their server tech support is a fucking joke... Most of the time the issue like adding APC or something like that involving a simple PHP rebuild they charge you to do... hell they charge you to do basically anything. I am in the process of switching to Synthesis right now as I have heard good things for them... they do not allow adult sites unfortunately however our money site has no nudity so we were able to get approved for hosting... GoDaddy can suck it ;)

That's Godaddy for you, still think they are one of best though. Haven't heard about any multi million dollar names getting transferred out of Godaddy like Moniker recently allowed for porn.com. ;)

I used to use RegisterFly.com back in the day and they were pretty good until they went to shit with ICANN dropping them. I was lucky when they shut down since I only lost one domain name (xlimited.com).

I agree with you on GD's security. I only use GD now to get .99 cent or $1.99 domain names and move them to NameSilo if I want to keep the domain name when it's about to expire.

Hmm.. I was with the fly during the whole debacle and luckily didn't lose any domains. Rest assured I had some primo ones too dating back to the mid and late 90s.. some were nearing expiry which had me on edge quite a bit, managed to get hold of an eNom rep who transferred them over. So I'm guessing yours either expired on ya or was Mallicked by the shonky owners and their 6k chihuahua or whatever it was.. :(

HawkHost have been surprisingly quick with support issues on the few times I've needed it. Good prices too.. plug

lol using GD for hosting is even more retarded than using GD for domains.

I paid for the renewal of xlimited.com through registerfly but I never got credited for the money. The name expired and I went to eNom but they could not help since it already expired or something. Not sure, it was a while back.

They do, so they can charge a fee for questionable content and hold you domain ransom.

Godaddy is cheap because of all the hidden bullshit fees that every 10th customer has to deal with.

I literally had a major domain redirecting to their advertisements because they said it was a high risk site. Not hosting but the domain registration.

I had to pay them $200 to unlock, mind you I was vacationing in Peru and didn't get word of this until a day later.

Hosting wise I've used http://www.LiquidWeb.com for many years. On the domain end I do use GoDaddy.com because...

US Based
$8.47 .Coms out the door
Executive Account Rep that adds impossible security to break for free so I sleep well
I've sold and brokered domains anywhere from 1-100k+ for well over a decade so makes it easier as most end users including a sale I just closed this Friday have heard of GoDaddy and already have an account there so makes things quicker and adds a level of trust if they have heard of the registrar :2 cents:
