The Rockstar I am referring to is someone who is the best at what they do, who is a 'star' among many and can 'rock' in their position. Just using slang.

I can reword it and say: Looking for THE BEST candidates for these positions, only THE BEST will be considered, are you THE BEST? ? how is that? better?

That's more someone that "Parties like a Rockstar". Definitely when I hear "party like a rockstar" I think exactly what you said.

On the other hand being a "rockstar at the work you do" just means being the very best at something. It's probably more a US term. For example anyone can learn an instrument but not everyone can be so good at that instrument that they become rockstars. You want rockstars at your job, not just regular musicians....
