Camera Help

I'm planning to buy a new camera. Right now I'm leaning towards the Sony A5100. I'd get the A6000 but I want the XAVC codec. I don't shoot porn.. This just a camera for me. Good choice? Anything better camera guys? I mainly want it for the video but I need to take pics too.

IMO you do NOT want the xavc codec its going to be an intermediary codec between H.264 and hevc (H.265) if you want 4:2:2 video use ProHD or similar specially since this is not a 4K camera

I would get an avchd cam or wait on an hevc model personally

NP its been like this for years remember when sony had the HD cams that were 1440x1080 same thing..an intermediate step they are worthless now

the next big thing is always right around the corner also a consideration with xavc is dioes your editing software support it or do you have to transcode to edit...
