                  They are not using a ton of CGI for the new movie. Abrams said they are going to make everything and actually use real creatures (puppets / costumes).

                                          I heard the same thing. Apparently he wants to use as much plastic models as possible, and as little CG as possible. That is AWESOME. Even with todays cutting edge CG, Real plastic models still somehow look better and more real than CG models.
