Then in the elevator he smacks her and she lunges forward to attack him again and he ends the fight with a knockout punch. Now had both of these people been the same gender nobody would have an issue with one of the people ending the fight. Or if the genders were reversed and he had punched her first and she ended the fight with a knockout nobody would have a problem with that. If fact many biased/pro-domestic violence/man haters and white knights would be cheering her.

So here is an example of the injustice of DV (domestic violence court). Many of the women are also abusers but when the man hits back he is the one who gets arrested. And even when a man does not fight back HE STILL GETS ARRESTED. A woman's word is all that is needed to get a man arrested and convicted of not only DV but sometimes also rape.

For the record I would never hit a woman back and never have even though a few have punched me pretty hard. I just walk away to avoid the confrontation. However men should be able to fight back just like a woman has a right to fight
back.

I am fine with women being allowed to hit men and men not being able to fight back as long as we go back to women not being able to drive, vote, etc etc. I believe in equal rights but if women don't want equal rights then they should be stripped of some rights.

To me, the idea of not hitting women isn't "no matter what" it's basically a truce. And it goes out to everyone. If you are not an immediate danger to me, and as long as hurting you isn't the only way to make you stop hurting me, then I'm not going to hurt you. Cause that's just not what I do. I don't initiate violence against anyone. Gender is not a factor. But if they initiate it, they cross that line, all bets are off.

Defending yourself against physical attack is not a matter of legal rights other than - does the person being attacked have a reasonable expectation that they are in danger of bodily harm or death.

They were both arrested and charged with simple assault then released on bail. Later, once the video surfaced his charges were increased to aggravated assault and her charges were ultimately dropped. He struck a deal that allowed him to complete some kind of anger management type classes. If he completes everything to the court's liking the charges will be dropped.

He and the woman in this video were engaged when this happened. They have since gotten married. I can't imagine it will end well.
