Affiliates today [paysites]
I have noticed that many people seem to have left adult (several years ago).
I also note that many paysites have simply closed there affiliate side. And those still going, no longer (except big sites) seem to bother to update. Indeed I have logged into many sites this week, that the last update was 2009. Is this affiliate system dead these days? OK, maybe if you get a big 'whale' such as a tube promote you, and can get sales, its good. But is it even worth bothering with small affiliates these days. Indeed, many seem to have quit. I am referring to paysites. Not webcam/dating and so on. Indeed is it worth promoting sites anymore? I used to get sales with ease. But that was up to about 2009/2010. In fact these days sales are dead for me. Webcam does well though. But many sites that I promote seem to have stopped shooting. It feels like they are just keeping there sites online for the odd sale. But those webmasters who used to come on this forum (gfy) and others, you simply never hear from them any more. Many seem to have moved on. There used to be a time when almost each day a webmaster would have a brand new site. Then you would have some clever programmer with some fancy thing for the members area. But all that seems to have dried up. In fact some of those sites for webmasters seem to have shut. I know that I post saying that porn is free and why would anyone pay these days, and I get people saying you still get sales. But to be honest no one seems to be doing anything new these days. Its not as if there are not opportunities, such as with new technology, such as tablets and so on. But things are starting to look old. Many paysites look old. The same design from 2002, not updated at all (one wonders if they updated the look of the site they may get more sales). To be honest for over the last 14 months I have quit doing porn. I just lost all hope. But this week, I decided to start again. I set up a new site (with an old domain name). I just want to see if I can still get sales. In truth I am hoping someone will say 'try this new thing', and it will be the dogs dangly bits. Something that will sell. Great on a pc, but also a tablet. But sadly I think that time has gone. But lets see.

For me all my sales come from paysites, no dating or cams. Good luck with your new project!

Plenty of great paysites out there to promote and new ones are popping up all the time, the world will always need porn.

That is another reason why I left the paysite game. Not only was it the falling ctr, the rising ratios and the increasing difficulty to get good paysite traffic but it's also the evaporation of paysite affiliates. It has many effects:
- Less affiliates looking out for shady sponsors doing shade things and then reporting them on the boards. this means more work for you in keeping on top of things. you can;t rely on other webmasters to find stuff. - Less incentive for the sponsors to keep their affiliate programs open. - Increased closings without notice and loss of all rebills. - Increasing non-payment. - Far less leverage for affiliates when it comes to getting better terms from the sponsor. - Increasing attitudes among sponsors of "you don't send 10 sales a day to us so screw you!"
