He don't have to Nanew no more!

I really enjoyed his comedy albums before the acting career took off.

His Colonel Mo's Bomb in a Bucket skit always made my sides hurt from laughing.

Come on down, bring the kids and get a free grenade.

RIP Robin Williams.

I bought a bottle of captain morgan. I'm going to pour a little out for my homie Robin Williams. Actually, I'm going to pour the whole bottle out because I don't drink.

always shocks me when geniuses like hunter thompson & robin williams call it quits. It makes me wonder if success would ever solve my own demons, I guess not.

RIP

It's too bad that some people see Robin Williams as weak. Suicide happens when the pain in your life exceeds your coping skills.

Exactly. People that perceive an act of suicide weak simple lack knowledge on mental disorders.

That pain can be either mental or physical :2 cents:

Everybody is always quick to assume suicide. I would not rule out AEA at this point.

in2deep 08-11-2014 09:32 PM

If you wouldn?t rule it out maybe you should provide a basis for ruling it in because it certainly isn?t a nice thing to say.

RummyBoy 08-11-2014 10:17 PM

James Lipton asks Robin Williams "If Heaven Exists...."

He has a history of chemical dependence problems and depression, reports are he has been severely depressed recently so pretty safe assumption it was suicide.

What will be interesting to find out about is if he was 'severely depressed' did family, friends, doctors attempt to intervene and/or have him committed to hospital.

He may have made the right decision for himself, I believe people have the right to end their lives, maybe he saw nothing but misery ahead. Depression isn't anywhere near as treatable as the drug companies and psychiatrists like to claim - study after study shows anti-depressant meds to barely be more effective than placebo and psychotherapy even less successful. Depression as a neurobiological disease is poorly understood by science and still unknown how much early childhood and everything we go through in life contributes to the disease.

I'd also add addiction, and depression to suicide.

Uhm, why isn't it a 'nice thing to say'? Maybe it was AEA, how does that make it a 'bad thing'?

LeRoy 08-12-2014 07:20 AM

Depression is a mother fucker. Sad to see someone special go. I enjoyed everything Robin Williams did on and off the screen.

John-ACWM 08-12-2014 08:24 AM

Very sad. Planning on watching some of his movies again. One of my favorites :(

nikki99 08-12-2014 08:28 AM

Just because he abused drugs and alcohol doesn?t mean it was death by AEA,
?Auto-Erotic Asphyxiation? not by any sense of the imagination.

Why would you make such an allegation?

He was depressed and took the shortcut off this planet, lets leave it at that.

Sat down in my car leaving work and the first thing said on the radio "We have confirmed that Robin Williams is dead"

Some of his moves were some of my all time favorites. We are very lucky to get to enjoy his have his work to hold on to.

He was legend... :( RIP... :(

hottoddy 08-12-2014 09:27 AM

RIP

He was a fantastic talent. Sad that he hadn't had a successful funny movie since Patch Adams (1998). His last memorable roles were Good Will Hunting (1997), and maybe One Hour Photo (2002) - which were dramatic. They super-promoted The Crazy Ones TV show, and it was really bad and cancelled after one season. I found him hard to watch on talk shows because he was "always on." That must have been a tough act to keep up. Add alcoholism to the declining career, and it must have been too much.

I'm really lost as to where you're coming from. Only users/alkies try AEA? It's a 'bad' thing to participate in AEA? And I didn't make the 'allegation' as you put it, anyway.

TeenCat 08-12-2014 10:24 AM

rest in peace and thanks for all the good times mr man! :thumbsup

RIP, what an amazing actor and stand up guy. Too much heart got to him.

fitzmulti 08-12-2014 01:22 PM

A couple of his best {as far as out of character/intense roles} were
The movie "One Hour Photo", and his Law & Order appearance.
Check those out if you ever get a chance!

Joe Obenberger 08-12-2014 02:18 PM

The Chicago Tribune reports as follows:

Williams, 63, was found dead by his personal assistant midday Monday, suspended from a belt wedged between a door and a door frame in a seated position just off the ground, Marin County's assistant chief deputy coroner Keith Boyd told a news conference.

What 'got him' was he was nearly broke from his previous two wives.

An amazing performance, as well as surprising, frankly.
