    Business Is there an ideal trailer length for paysite tours?

    I am looking at adding a trailer on the site like this (see link below) to test next week and was wondering if anyone tested the lenght of trailers. Specially since it will be the first thing people see when landing on the page I would say to keep it short but poewrfull no? 30 secs, 1 minute max?

          I think you're right, 30 secs - 1 min max is ok. The trailer that is currently on your site seems too long.
          I actually tested it but my traffic volume is too small to be certain of the results. Anyway, the best ones were under 1min videos and over 5min videos. I don't know why.

                  I think a minute is good. We do it for every scene we put up. Maybe an overkill but can't see how it could hurt. You never know what grabs a customer's eye.

                          Our tours currently show 3 videos, and those 3 videos are 2-3 minute compilation type trailers that show more of our content in one go than having individual trailers for every update.

                          We were a bit skeptical at first on how these types of trailers would perform, but after having our tours setup like they are for several months, we're converting more than we were before with individual update type trailers.

                              I would indeed be in favor of the 1 or 2 compilations rather than one for every scene. We update daily with at least 1 video and it would imo be overkill to do one for every update.

                              Did you notice a big change in bouncerate and time on site after adding them?

                                  Yup I've always liked 30-50 second trailers myself.. I see 2-4 min videos on tours from time to time and I lose interest before getting to the end of 20 different scene tidbits in long trailers..

                                  Porn is a impulse buy so if you try to get a surfer to spend 10 mins on your tour you prolly already lost that sale..

                                      I do 30 sec to 1 minute previews, depending upon the site.
                                      I have slightly shorter ones (20 sec) on my bondage site, www.VegasBondage.com , because I find that worked better for that type of site, after doing some testing.

                                          Our bouncerates have been the same, no noticeable difference. We have noticed the average time on site has decreased though, but also an increase in join submits as well as joins so not sure if that's a bad thing or not.

                                          This used to be the case, but in our experience no longer is. For us, the longer compilations convert better than showing new trailers per episode per update. We used to have multi page, in-depth tours and cutting them down to single page tours with the compilation type trailers works better for us.

                                          Now, I should mention that these trailers are themed and tend to tell a story, and aren't just half assed chop jobs that try to stuff a bunch of content in ~2 minutes; which I believe captures the attention of our visitors moreso than does a beginning to end trailer of a single update.

                                          Again, these are just our experiences, and as with everything in life, your mileage may vary.

                                                  Because most of my Tours are tube-optimized they do not have videos. I removed them thinking the visitor came 'pre-sold' after watching a vid on a tube so therefore would not want to sit through another video. Also most of my vids were in Flash and would not play on Android devices.

                                                  But some sites I update daily with fresh preview vids (helps with bookmarkers) and some I do compilation videos. My 'sweet spot' is between 1-2 minutes. Thirty seconds always seems to short a time for me but I am old so....LOL Who knows what really works, depends on your content, traffic and overall approach I suppose.

                                                      Even though that clubseventeen video was 2.10 i was already skipping though it after 45 seconds. Makes me wonder why some companies upload 6 min promos to tubes.

                                                              No doubt. A pretty good percent of surfers used to get off on 15 pics, giving away 6 mins of video content which as far as I can see is rarely edited for any tease factor is hardly going to improve join ratios.
