Let's face reality here.... You have a government putting travel restrictions on it's staff (3% of the population), tour agencies going out of business, airlines shutting down, private planes not allowed to travel, and nearly thirty thousand Russian citizens stranded but it's not because of sanctions, it's just "shit happens"? Sure. |

I donīt think is any harder to get visa or book hotel or airline tickets..itīs just the same as before. But I read in local newspaper that russian tourists are down 40% this year. Problems I have seen are mostly related to credit cards not working or declined only once i saw some hate related issues but those are idiotic people. Catalunya good for you I myself prefer Andalucia or Algarve. |

upd: for those who confused - income tax is paid by employer in RU, not by employee. upd2: and I wouldn't call these tour operators absolutely useless though - it is way smarter to use tour operator when you fly to Egypt or Tunis, I'd not risk to fly there myself. But for Europe or Asia it is much better to do everything on my own, though using tour operators sometimes is still cheaper as they have access to bulk discounts for tickets and hotels. |

You claim these travel restrictions have nothing to do with the sanctions, and you provide links to back this up, and when I translate the first one it says in the third paragraph that these restrictions are directly because of the sanctions? "Associated with the recent ban recommendation MFA all Russian forces to refrain from visiting countries where they may be victims of provocation because of the sanctions imposed on Russia after the annexation of the Crimea. In the near future similar restrictions may also be administered by the FSB, the Federal Penitentiary Service, Federal Drug Control Service and the Ministry of Defense." So, according the Interior Minister, yes, the travel restrictions are directly because of the sanctions. |

Russia will be cut off from the internet soon anyways...
I wonder if according to the new law also porn blogs with more than 3000 visitors a day must be registered? |
My personal opinion that there is no chance that effects of any kind of sanctions can be seen so fast. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe that it is excuse for shady business practice that I've already seen so many times with local tour operators and scammed people.
And ask Montenegro that supported "sanctions" on Russia, how their season this years looks like. Completely empty, Russians went to other destinations to spend money. Planet is huge enough and European idiots that are imposing sanctions will take most damage , while US is applauding to their stupidity. Winter is coming. Meanwhile in Russia: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/n...sanctions.html |
;) |
I've read yesterday that there is no hot water in Kiev, they are trying to save gas for winter.
