    Soros sees risk of another world war - MarketWatch



    Very interesting speech...... he sees one step towards avoiding war, is to include the Chinese RMB into the basket of currencies that make up the SDR. He might be anticipating the possibility that the USA will try to stop that happening.

                      The only WW3 that would ever happen is an all out nuclear war. No one wants that, so none of the major nuclear powers will ever try to invade one another. What will happen is what happens now.. Regional wars in third world countries. No one is gonna nuke each other over places like Syria, Ukraine and so on and it's still the same game of chess with the profits of war with out having to do much of the work..

                      Think about it.. If the U.S. For instance really wanted war with say Russia.. Why wouldn't we have invaded them post USSR break up? There was no real control over the former soviet countries many didn't like the others and it would of been a walk in the park at that time to take over for US and NATO forces..

                      Why would we wait all these years for Russia to rebuild and then fight them? Why would we intermingle our economy with China if we wanted war with them?

                      If it ever happens it won't be the U.S. That starts it..l

                          I didn't bother watching the video, but is George Soros religious? If so, lots of religious people seem to really want WW3 and end of days crap because they think they will get an automatic passport to heaven.

                                  More likely that China may enter a prolonged civil war. Basically, developing an internal consumer market will require political reforms. Right now, China is the worlds low cost labor factory and for a consumer market to develop there they will end up with a very economically divided society.

                                  Posturing against China's inclusion in the TPP agreements is a mistake -- whether or not the TPP is enacted is immaterial to the hostility toward US and Asian relations with China. Kicking the biggest homie in the ass is not going to benefit trade or political relations

                                          Russia wanted partial control of those countries for a "buffer zone from the west" being as "the west" (being defined as "Nazi Germany") over ran them and nearly made it all the way to Moscow. No country suffered greater than the Soviet Union did.

                                          Could the US had over run all of those countries and attacked Russia during the cold war? Maybe. But if you look at the past history of the Soviet Union and how they pretty much fought back Nazi Germany on their own.... Makes any country think twice about attacking them.

                                          At a certain point some countries are just too freaking big.... United States, Russia, and China. You can attack any country, but with the big three there is thousands of miles from border to border - that's way too much cannon fodder. This is one of the ways the Soviet Union was able to beat back the Nazis - The picked their industries and moved them across the country where the Germans couldn't get them.

                                              That's a scary thought.... A virus that shuts down all computers and or am EMP strike would crippling. Think about it - No computers, NO NOTHING. No power, eventually your water shuts down, no food because stores cannot order anything.....

                                                              There was no one in charge, people were selling off the military weapons to the highest bidder. Shit they tried to sell a fucking submarine to a gun dealer. (the movie Lord of War was actually based off that guy) Russia was a fucking weapons bazaar to the highest bidder. The entire Russian Navy was rusting away in dockyards. Much of it still is to this day.

                                                              It would be amazing if none of those nuclear suitcases made it to the hands of anyone bad. Honestly I'd almost bet a few have..

                                                              The point being there was no functioning military and barely any govt.                                                                               Yep. Nazis took the whole Europe and almost reached Moscow. They were stopped in about 40 kilometers to Moscow borders.

                                                                              Napoleon took Kremlin in 1812.

Russia can barely get a single military ship and a support ship to Cuba, while the United States is operating in the deep waters of every ocean simultaneously and has been for decades.

                                                                                                                                          Nuclear warfare is irrelevant at this point. It worked for the United States with Japan, but only because no other country had such technology and even if they did, they did not have the ability to deploy it against the United States. Russia could nuke Washington DC, but the United States would have the ability to instantly retaliate - Washington DC would be destroyed, but so would Moscow.

The direct military loses were not real huge. Just as an example, only in Stalingrad Battle we lost 1,129,619 killed, while Nazi Germany lost 1,500,000 + about 91,000 captured. Not a real bad statistic, actually. So all those huge military losses is a myth.

GDP is an internal (domestic) thing and must be calculated in national currencies only (Russia is not the USA and we do not print dollars like toilet paper). Also the ways of calculation are really funny. For example the UK and Italy add prostitution and drug-trafficking into their GDP (such a clever decision!) As about the USA, so I can easily show how its being calculated. Jack the redneck got a loan in some US bank (add this money to the US GDP), he bought a home (add this money to the US GDP), he paid taxes (add this money to the US GDP), his son joined the US army (add his salary to the US GDP) and been sent to Afghanistan (add the cost of the US Afghan company, weapon, bases etc to the US GDP). After a few months he was heroically killed there and send back to home in a coffin with stars and stripes (add the price of the coffin, transportation and funeral to the US GDP). A gravedigger was paid for it and paid his taxes as well (add this money to the US GDP). This is how GDP is being calculated So in fact, all those cosmic military expenses make your GDP higher and make your people poorer - there are no free medicine and education in the USA and a regular American lives for loans and credits (for example I have never took any credit/load in a whole my life). So forget about free medicine, free education etc and enjoy your huge GDP and national debt

However, if you include unfunded liabilities that will become due, the true figure is over $100 trillion USD. Incidently, I read somewhere recently that at least $6 trillion of national debt figure was debt created by all the US wars of the last 20 years.
