I'm all for 'smaller' webmasters being involved, I'm even for dormant ones that contribute being involved... I'm for very active webmasters being involved even if they post idiocy because they are actually in the business at least. All I am against is 'guy with no websites who is not in the business, coming here to use a fake nice to post racist nonsense or to piss all over himself because he has nothing else to do on a Thursday." This industry is not 'new' anymore. If nobody has every heard of you, nobody has ever worked with you, you can't name a single site you own in the industry and you post nonsense... you don't need to be here (and you are the reason many people who should be here are leaving) :2 cents: |
Marketing something on GFY now looks like this:

Instate a "Don't be a dick" rule.
Funny enough, when googling that link, I found this. http://www.dontbeadickday.com which is tomorrow. |
All those suggestions deserve a site of their own ...

I've mentioned this on a couple of occasions now, the ONLY feature I want is the ability to completely ignore the usernames on my ignore list.
If I can no longer see their threads, posts etc then that will weed out 99% of the shite I don't even want to waste my time skimming over. I don't know about other long time posters but I only visit this forum sporadically now because I can't be bothered spending 5 or 10 minutes to find those one or two threads that are worth reading or replying to. There are still a lot of very intelligent people who post here and their opinions and insight are great but I feel as if they are posting less and less due to the people 12clicks mentioned above. Implement this feature and GFY can continue as is for all I care but for all intensive purposes I don't have to see posts by... Seeandsee and his broken english posts in every fucking thread! CurrentlySober's posts about poo in every thread Signupdamnit's constant bitching about tubes and piracy in nearly every thread DVTimes's posts, ALL of them. I know how to find a BBC or Daily Mail article thank you! That's just to name a few on my ignore list, anyway I fully understand that without a bunch of full time posters a forum doesn't exist anymore. Just make it easier for me to find the information I want to find I enjoy reading posts by TheSquealer, Sly, Shap, JA$ON, Ruseful, Relentless, ColMike and posts by countless others. Their opinions are actually worth my time but they're posting less and less and who can blame them! Anyway that's my :2 cents: |
It would also be nice if people on your ignore list couldn't post in your threads.
That would certainly cut out 90% of the verbal diarrhoea that ends up in every single thread, no matter how interesting the subject! A simple message like... "Sorry the OP thinks you're a spastic and doesn't want your retarded posts in his/her threads" |

If you are the author of the first post in a thread is it "Your Thread" or is it "GFY's Thread"?
The answer determines if you are community oriented or not. If you want to control who reads or posts in a thread you start you should make AVN an offer for the purchase of the site or start your own blog with the comments turned off. I really don't think AVN/GFY will lose page views because someone does not want someone else to post in or even read a thread. |
it's just less posters than the heydays when even thick skulled idiots like sleazydream could make money in the biz. If the bar is that low to make cash, the place is flooded. Now the bar is way higher, so there are less posters.
Nothing else changed. So stop whining, who gives a shit. |
