It could be that someone from such a small country doesn't completely grasp the total size of the USA. It's one thing to look at a map, but a total different one once you actually experience traveling even 500 miles in the States. From our experience, you can travel qs little as 500 and find each different segment of the population, whether its Black, White, or some other ethnic group has a "favored" drink... "food" etc, but in 6 months time, it could (usually IS) something entirely different. lol Just those phase - fad things. :)

I *do* find it sort of silly to use your ancestors countries of origin to ID yourself... Especially the one statement bringing "the melting pot" in... If you re born here, you *ARE* American... if you Naturalize, you are *STILL* an American.

I'm only third Generation American while my old man has hundreds of Generations before him that were American. In GA, to me, I was ticked as to HOW it was changed. We all woke up one morning and we had a new state flag. :( Personally, I don't care WHAT flag we have, but if it does TRULY bother people, not just fancy rhetoric, then something needs to be done.

I also think the media and the so called "leaders" on both/all sides cause and exacerbate 90% of the racial problems that exist today. They do what they can to sell papers/news shows and to get money to run for political office and for their "cause". Put real people in a room together and 9 times out of 10 they all get a long just fine no matter what color they are.

What do people have a problem understanding? The reason why most white people would be consider racist when they use the word ****** is because in the context they're using it, they probably are being racist.

If a white person said, "Damn, those good for nuthin ******s. All they do is eat fried chicken and watermelon." That would be fucking racist.

If a black person (white person for that matter) addressed one of his homies like: "What up nigga? What you up to? How about we go get some chicken?"

That wouldn't be racist because of CONTEXT. No longer is the word being used in a derogatory manner. It is being used as a term of endearment.

Of course, there are plenty of white people and black people would disagree. They would say using the "n" word as a black or a white person under any circumstance is racist.

anyways, I've seen reverse racism plenty of times. In the Mission district in SF all the hispanics hated all the white people moving in because it was raising rents.

Uh, if you're really in Charleston, look around - anything that's over 100 years old was built by blacks.
