Though I guess that if they could, they found find cheaper, greener alternatives to it sooner or later.

If the world is truly in the throes of "Climate Change" caused by these emissions and it's going to destroy mankind...then a "fair comparison" shouldn't even be in the equation now should it?

What use is cargo if we are all dead, right?

What use is the military if we are all going to die from Climate Change? Right?

If the govt. really believes that climate change is happening...then why are they only worried about the comparably piss ant amounts of emissions that we citizens put out?

Obviously they are NOT too worried about it. Almost like it's a complete non-issue EXCEPT for the multi-billion dollar business of buying and selling "carbon credits".

Makes a rational man think that something just isn't adding up...

I hear what you're saying, but I think you're missing the point. Look at it this way : Cargo ships, despite how much they pollute, are probably pretty efficient because they can move so much, so fast, so far, with "so much" being the point.

A bus is more efficient than a car because it moves more people from point A to point B. Even though a bus may pollute more as a vehicle, it pollutes less, costs less, and uses less energy, per-passenger.

Or to look at it another way, imagine if each cargo container was moved one at a time, on a truck lets say, from China to the US, across super long bridges. The amount of energy used and pollution spewed would be much higher than shipping them by a massive cargo carrying boat.

One of the most in efficient ways to move people is with cars because most of the time, a big 4 passenger car has only 1 person in it. The amount of energy it takes to get that person from home to work is maybe only 10% of what is used to move the car (Just a guess). The rest of the energy is lost to noise, heat and exhaust.

This is why the push towards fuel efficient cars or alternative energy cars makes so much sense: You should be able to get someone from point A to point B with less energy, or cleaner energy, or both. A 4 Cyl car does exactly the same thing as an 8 Cyl car does getting the guy from work to home, with less energy and less pollution. (Less fun too perhaps, but you get my point).

Peace.

Doing that shit to people on motorcycles or bicycles is going to get someone hurt or killed.

Then the real solution is not to import cheap shit from china and cut down on transportation. Go back to consuming what is grown, produced and manufactured locally and cut that part of the transportation chain out completely.

What is being missed is that these guys are making their point, just like environmentalists who like to preach from the pulpit. Both are equally as annoying, and most people who like to drive compact, efficient cars, or those that like to drive larger, less efficient vehicles, do so without bothering anyone about their personal choices.

That would be awesome. It's too bad we buy most of our stuff from China and overseas. It's almost impossible to find things marked "made in Canada" or "made in the USA" anymore.

In that case, I'd say that their point they are trying to make, is a non-point. No one is losing their personal choice. You can buy 4 Cyl or 8 Cyl cars, or electric, or whatever. You can't beat a Ford or Dodge 8 Cyl Pickup truck for power - even I know that. And muscle cars will never go away, nor should they. No one says don't buy Gas cars. What is being said is simply is that there are alternatives out there for people who want to save money and pollute less.

You're still missing the point, that's obvious because instead of even acknowledging their point (crucial step in altering behavior, meeting in the middle, finding solutions, resolving issues, etc, et al.), you simply keep talking your's.

Again, you show you don't want to curb pollution, you want to finger-point and argue while acting elitist for having a green attitude while driving a brand-new car that just dumped 20 tons of pollution onto the planet just to be manufactured.

well done. :upsidedow:)

oh, and cargo shipping in its entirety only accounts for 3-4% of all greenhouse gases produced globally.

He's trolling half of the time. You and I post what we actually think because we actually think it. Maybe we're fucking idiots but at least we are being who we are, instead of trolls that cannot be believed or trusted. Funny thing is when these guys want us to believe something real, how do you know that they are being truthful? And frankly, why even care if they are being truthful? They have already damaged their credibility by being trolls.

The psychological characteristics of a troll: http://www.slate.com/articles/health...ychopathy.html

Not a pretty picture.

Sorry but I disagree with your comparison.

These guys are posing a danger to people's health and could potentially cause auto accidents.

Agreed on both points.

Every one of those idiots should be put in jail. Period.

How many of these coal rollers would object if someone took out a cigarette in a bar and tried to smoke? "Take it outside!" they would yell. LOL What a fucking joke.

There should be laws against doing this AND 98% of coal production should be stopped immediately. Look at West Virginia and what's happened to that beautiful state because of mountaintop removal.

Ah why do I even bother? Fuck it, carry on. LOL

The Porn Nerd 07-10-2014 09:35 AM

Fiddy asshats.

Not at all. Why are you talking for me?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Gasoline has its place, and always will. I am not one of those that think Oil will ever be completely replaced. It's impossible imho.

However it doesn't mean that alternate, green or greener solutions should not be explored or considered. Gas driven cars use too much energy to move people around compared to diesel powered busses and trains, and electric cars. I also think that big oil has had its chance, and has blown it. Big oil pollutes and their clean-up efforts are weak at best. They do not deserve my business anymore, so I switched to what I think is a cleaner, cheaper form of energy. That's it! That's all man... Please don't talk to for me. If you have a question for me and want me to clarify my position on things to you I am happy to do it but don't do it for me.
