"El Topo" and "Holy Mountain" are also great.

Interesting, I'm now watching the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune.

According to what I read online, the spider represents his infidelity. When he sees it, it means the start of a new cycle of him being unfaithful to his pregnant wife.

Just reading some of the theories online. My favourite is that it is just an invasion of the body snatcher style movie with the aliens being giant spiders. Lol. Obviously that's not it, but it sounds like even the actors in the movie each had their own take on the movie's meaning.

I loved Prisoners too.. I'd like to suggest watching The Town.

Try 'American Hustle', a good movies, they don't make too many these days. And yes, some of the recommendation are great, you can't go wrong with the good old classics. Saw 'Lethal Weapon' these days again and damn, it was good and it was launched 27 years ago.

Yeah...just listening to that old coot talk for an hour and a half is inspiring. He never got the movie made, but if you're creative it'll make you want to go create something directly after watching.

Tim's Vermeer is another amazing documentary, but it's about the technical side of art.

That would be an awesome documentary double feature.

"Under The Skin", is a beautiful and haunting cinematic experience. And I've also found "The Counselor" fantastic (despite the whole world telling me otherwise).

kittykatt 08-13-2014 07:30 AM

Branded, Middle Men, The Grand Budapest Hotel :thumbsup

I loved The Counselor also. People just didn't even try to understand it.

No one has mentioned "Snowpiercer" yet?

I enjoyed the heck out of that flick.

Directed by the guy that did "The Host" but I would say it has a sort of Jodorowsky flair for the surreal.
