Police are searching for a woman caught on video brutally beating a mother as the victim's child pleaded for her to stop.

The video, shot in a Salem, Massachusetts street, contains violent images.

"Police in this county deal with this type of violence every day. Yet, this video is physically sickening to watch," Salem Chief of Police John J Pelura III said.

The video shows the 27-year-old victim being thrown to the ground, beaten repeatedly, kicked and spat on.

As the attack continues, the victim's two-year-old son urges the attacker to stop and kicks her legs.

Apparently they both worked at McDonald's and the victim had been gossiping at work about the savage at some point. So instead of discussing it with her she decided to almost beat her to death in front of her child.

there's a lot in the middle there that's not known. Perhaps the black woman just walked up to her and commenced to violence or the white woman very much could have escalated things also and perhaps even took the first swing. all guessing on my part.

No one has stepped in supporting the violence in the video posted. Additionally, the police have identified the assailant and I suspect that she will be prosecuted and convicted for her crime.

The audio is choppy, however it sounds like it was not about race, but rather because the aggressor took exception to something the other woman said/did which she thought could jeopardize her employment (still not acceptable, however I get the impression that the attack was not racially motivated, that the attacker is predisposed to violence, and she will be made to pay for her crime).

It is deplorable that people are not stepping in, but sadly that is all too common.

I find it even more deplorable when people try to use such acts of violence to justify their own racist attitudes.

Amazing that anyone would think being known as a race baiting troll is good for their business.

Not all people can switch off their anger in the middle of a fight though. It's not easy to do. I've stopped myself a couple of times in the past, it was difficult because when you're in a fight your adrenalin is flowing and your instinct is to keep beating the shit out of your opponent.

I'm gonna guess that these two women aren't the smartest or most well-rounded emotionally. It's a miracle that the one who "won" the fight didn't kill the other one in a rage.

I thought it was pretty sick too that no one tried to stop it. It looked like the people around were pretty young so that might have had something to do with it. I definitely would have got involved as soon as the young boy was kicking her. All it would take is a second for her to lose control and kick the kid hard enough to kill him or seriously mess him up.
