Not sure if it was in relation to "Relentless" post about thanking me for giving him a better chance to catch you by using the 3rd place playoff game (which i'm sure was a tongue in cheek comment itself), but the truth is that has nothing to do with it and if anything could work in your favour as you could be out of sight by the final.

I simply forgot about the 3rd place game originally, and although i'm not a fan of them, it would be silly to leave out 1 game from the World Cup in the pool. Regardless of how meaningless it is...

This contest as before is about adding some more fun to an already excellent World Cup.

The fact that a share of $1500 will be handed out to the top 5 places only adds to the fun! It cost nothing to enter, Ross from Traffic Force and the crew at Pimproll have already said their places will not count in the final standings when it comes to the prize money.

I have enjoyed taking some time out of my day to keep track of what's going on. And i'd do it all over again.

Seriously you have done a great job and Traffic Force deserves a lot of credit for making the World Cup much more fun than it would have been. The only one around here fucking things up for everyone is CDSmith... and him I think we should never forgive or forget. Who picks the right score in 3 of 4 semifinals... only an asshole does something like that....I mean, really....way to ruin everything... :1orglaugh

He means that you change, reconsider etc rules as the tournament is already going on. It is understandable as it is probably your first organized game like that. Next time you will have a clear set of rules before the competition and it will be great. This is the most important part when organizing an event like that (I have done few tourneys like that myself so I speak from experience).
And no, nobody is saying anything bad towards you and this contest as it is great and free. Just some tips that may be useful for you in the future.

Taking feedback and other things into account as it goes on while being fair ? Yes

Reconsidering/changing rules? I wouldn't say any of that has happened...

Some of the members i don't want to name anyone waits to see the other predictions of the members and then sets his-that's is not transparency because he can see the other results of the members as sets his in the direction best for him or play opposite team to win more points -(especially of the last rounds).
I have been playing NFL pool organized of one top sponsor on GFY and there you cant see the opponents tips before the kick off.

All do respect for CDSmith who every-time make the predictions as the round begin.

As for your point though, i don't honestly see what advantage the people who go last are getting. If someone predicts Brazil to beat Germany 3 - 0, i don't see how going for the opposite team will get more points as the original Brazil winning result could be right. Which means no points are gained for the person who waited. I'd like to think most people have gone with the result and scoreline THEY think is most likely to happen.

The fact that CDSmith is leading the way, and as you said he is one of the very first people to post each time, surely contradicts the point in waiting ??

I have to agree with this one. If the scores were posted in a private fashion I think this would be boring. Everyone plays a different way. If one person is waiting till the end to make their picks then best of luck to them, may the best strategist or predictor win :-)

Ah, here we go. Now we're getting to the focus of your 'gripe'. Fact is, if you'd care to check your facts before opening your mouth, I had my pics in quite early for a few rounds, and yes quite late for a few rounds. Couple that with the fact that I've always quoted McD's picks and then simply removed the quotes and changed the scores to mine (thus making my own picks) and not even looking at anyone else's pics, at least until mine are submitted. Do you see any "edited by CDSmith" notations under my prediction posts?

You're somehow inferring that I have an edge because I can see the predictions of others? That' my friend is pure stupidity. Why would that give anyone an edge? I went totally with my gut, just like everyone should be doing. In that last round for example I figured that the teams were the best of the tournament and thus the scores would be lower, and made my predictions based on that... and it luckily for me paid off.

Anyway my predictions are not the last ones entered on most rounds, if you'd care to notice. You're way off base here, and I take exception to you singling me out for some reason. Perhaps you'd like to explain in detail how me or anyone being able to see prediction scores of others gives anyone an edge? Please, I'd love to hear this.

The only time there would be an advantage in posting your picks last would be where there was only one close challenger to a leader, and the leader copied the person in second place's picks to ensure that he scored the same poiints and thus stayed ahead.

It is not against any rules, and is no different to players running the ball into the corner or passing amongst themselves to preserve a lead as a game closes.

A perfectly run competition in my mind. Must have taken some organizing, so great job Scott and well done Traffic force for sponsoring it.

I fancied germany so took a look at the price, 9/5 - too skinny for my liking, so went 1 - 0 @ 15/2, and 2 - 0 @ 12/1. hindsight and all that, but probably the best 9/5 that's ever been offered lol

Okay then that part of your gripe I read wrong then. I took it to mean you were, by innuendo of some sort, accusing me of waiting until the last before entering my scores. So did several others, by the way. You really should have explained yourself in a clearer fashion, of which I gave you every chance to do so.

And I'm not setting myself up as 'smarter' or 'more important' at all. I was however quite disgusted that someone sure enough has to find something to complain about, and as to mentioning me personally I'm sorry but I did ask in my very next post if that is what you meant. I think Brazil have a lot to prove here, one last performance to get their country proud of them again. Holland looked shit yesterday, no invention, not much movement from their top players, I think their tournament is finished and they just want to go on vacation now.

Germany will win the World Cup, Argentina are poor unless Messi and Di Maria are on fire, even then it is still too slow to make stuff happen.
