Ask city and town managers how the books look. Ask state comptrollers. From a fiscal perspective the added load of millions of illegal immigrants "on the dole" is crushing many treasuries across the country.
The new "prosperity" in California is fake. State funds might be better off but they are choking the life out of cities and towns to do it. I know, I lived in Los Angeles until recently.
Ask border states. Education is up? What planet are you on? You obviously do not have children and if you do they have to be dumb as rocks for you to think all is well. No offense but grasp reality. When you have 47 million people ++ on foodstamps alone. How prosperous is the US?
Dont' freak out when your town goes belly-up. Just put on the rose-colored sunglasses, drink the kool-aid offered and prance around like a woodland fairy and rejoice.Comment

Sorry, man. Much of that is out dated thinking. Farmers in central valley and many places are having trouble finding workers because their old work faces are opting for a better life in the cities and towns.
Illegals do the shit jobs that have to be done in America.
Do you want to pick farm crops, clean toilets or be cheap casual labor?
"You act as if millions of pregnant women are crashing our borders to dump babies on our land and collect welfare checks. There are a few cases of this but they are a small minority of cases. "
HARDLY. Many come here because they have no social services in their corrupt countries of origins. Read the Arpaio article. Straight from the horses mouths.
So, citizen welfare recipients will flock to fill in the lowest level worker shortage that barring the illegal immigrant will result in.
Maybe we should deport one low-life "entitled" non working citizen for every immigrant willing to toil hard for success. America might be a better place to be ...
I admit many American workers are failures. But certainly you do not rehabilitate them by allowing millions of people into the country illegally. Those people are fighting for the same jobs now. America is a mcJob country now.
I come from the generation that thinks if the FEDs want it, it must be bad. And in this case that thinking certainly applies.
How does the southwest support millions of extra people when the water supplies are fading rapidly? De-salination is years away for the southwest. Thats a technical fact. It appears they have not solved the ocean water retrieval part of the job without sucking up everything in front of the intake valves. lol.
I agree end most entitlements though. Be brutal. Get Putin to do the job.Last edited by Captain Kawaii; 06-22-2014, 10:12 AM.Comment

That?s a problem for Obama, because it undermines his political campaign to pressure GOP leaders in the House to pass the Senate?s unpopular 2013 immigration bill. A Gallup poll released June 20 showed that 61 percent of Americans oppose his immigration policies. Only 31 percent of Americans, and 25 percent of independents, support his immigration-boosting policies.

Sure that's why we are spending money we don't have? That's taking responsibility?
MSNBC has to apologize all the time for lies, Fox was rated number one again for Most Trusted by the Brookings institution where MSNBC came in below Jon Stewart on comedy central, that's saying something
Deportations are up, so are the crossings, do you ever watch anything but liberal news? You can't see the whole picture from one side. Unless you watch both sides, you will never know the truth.
If you had two kids that were in trouble, would you only listen to one of them to get the truth, or would you ask both?Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. Los Angeles is over 50% latino now, white kids make up 9% of the public schools. I never see kids working in fast food anymore.
Most jobs in LA require you to be bilingual with Spanish now
Los Angeles is a Sanctuary City, this should not be allowed.
We are getting our troops home, we should be deploying them to the border to secure it. Then building a proper fence and border patrol.
We should send all criminals from below the border back home when they have served their sentence.

Actually, all the "science" shows that man has contributed to global warming. Just because your side sucks at science doesn't mean that global warming is a absolute. Science is always changing, the deal is you right wingers try to act as if there is an argument when you have no actual science to back you up.
Just because you say so or "think" doesn't make it so.. This is the rights problem, you guys are always lax on the facts but expect everyone to just agree with you because you think it sounds good. As we have gone over countless times, the so cherry picked data the right wing always uses to claim man has no effect has been proven wrong over and over..yet you guys act as if scientist whom don't agree with ignorance are the ones whom are wrong. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

Until the definition is changed in the dictionary it's stands. Just because you righties can't use proper grammar doesn't make it mean something else. The word is a fucking adjective not a fucking noun. Do you call people "running"? That's how ridiculous calling someone "liberal" is.. It's a descriptive adj not a noun.
Anyone time I see so done use the word liberal in the context you guys use it, I already know the person is brainwashed by the far right. Normal people don't use the term liberal as a noun, it's only the far right wingers that try to use it as a noun.
Now I won't try to say I use perfect grammar all the time but seriously calling people "liberal" as a noun just looks ignorant.Last edited by crockett; 06-22-2014, 02:41 PM.In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

gotta make it personal, eh crockett. too bad. It would be impossible for you to prove I'm a rightie, nevertheless, I'm not insulted.
the simple fact is a term like "the science is settled" regardless of what side you are on, is not a liberal position in any sense whatsoever.
And if you want to cling to an outdated definition of liberal feel free, but again, one only needs to keep a liberal viewpoint to be open to new things and definitions,

So it's : "Hey look at the monkey time again" ... Let's hate on the undocumented workers they are why we fail ...
Why do you think immigrants come to the USA -- to live in a trailer park and get a welfare check? They are going to displace the white trash! Build a wall before it's too late! There won't be any welfare money left -- oh noes!!!
Better you employ a immigrant as a worker -- need a gardener or a maid? The 1% would have a shit fit if they had to clean their own toilets (pun intended), cut their own lawns, etc. ... So be assured: this is all talking points and in the end nothing will change.

I see, no problemo. My initial post in this thread was pointing out the liberal thinking, as it was stated, won't be the end of western civilization. But that said, I went on to include the liberal view is not doing itself any favors as the current behavior(?) doesn't coincide truly with that definition yu posted, and such viewpoints and take it or leave it arguments such as the science is settled only really hinder getting more people on board to not pollute or on-board with any goals on the liberal agenda.I was not speaking just at you, but at all people whom use the word Liberal as a noun.. Did you know that Los Angeles spends about a billion dollars a year on illegal aliens? With welfare, schools and other public services!

The so called liberal agenda when it comes to environmental issues, is aimed at protecting our national resources. One would think that having clean air to breathe or clean water to drink might be a universal need and want not a political football. However much like all the other big issues the right has turned them into political arguments and as always there is some lobby that has a vested interest that is paying them.I see, no problemo. Of course we should all want to have a pleasant environment. While a lot if people don't give a shit at all about that just because they don't, many people don't pollute less simply because they fall on the other side of the politics of it and that disallows them.
It would be the same if the debate of pollution was spun into a religious debate. God says you will burn in hell if you pollute and rest assured quite a few people will intentionally pollute.Comment

This sounds good in theory, but it doesn't matter what proof is provided the right and those whom chat the party line about no global warming will ignore anything that doesn't agree with what they already think. I mean look at the whole stupidity around claiming that co2 gases are ok because the earth has had high levels before.. Ummm the last time the co2 levels were as high as they are today was during a time of massive volcanic activity.. Do we have massive volcanic activity right now? Nope we sure don't.. So why is the co2 level rising? Cow farts?I agree with you, thus the science is settled example. Making shit political never helps anything, except politicians and the media.

Why not change the argument/debate then? The goal is to motivate behavior, not be right. Change the argument to something agreeable re: pollution to get more people to pollute less. This sounds good in theory, but it doesn't matter what proof is provided the right and those whom chat the party line about no global warming will ignore anything that doesn't agree with what they already think. They don't care about pollution either. The people might, but not the Republican law makers whom are getting paid by big oil, coal and gas lobbies.
Just look at the Texas deal with fracking. The actual Texas state railroad commission whom is in charge of drilling in Texas was just caught outright lying about findings of a well that contaminated ground water.
Just 2 days ago again with fracking, it was released that Pennsylvania's health dept was told to ignore anyone whom called asking about health related issues and fracking and they were specifically told not to return calls of people calling about fracking related issues.
Then look at coal. The right non stop bitches about anything at all that is attempted to ween us off coal or oil for that matter. In Louisiana, the governor signed a bill into law that stops any lawsuits for damages by big oil's pollution of the coast lines.
These things all go on and on and there are countless examples and behind almost all of them is Republican support. The simple fact is, if it harms big business in any way as in cutting profit, Republicans have shown time and time again by their actions that they will allow the pollution to continue.
They don't care as long as it's not in their back yard.Last edited by crockett; 06-22-2014, 04:00 PM.In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

Then that's where the debate should be. Your point of fracking correlates too, like the fracking exec in the Dallas suburb suing the city over a fracking site close to his fancy neighborhood.
That's where the opportunity is for changing polluting behaviors. Won't be everyone though. Every time I walk down the streets of downtown Los Angeles, which is every day, I see people flick ciggarette butts onto the sidewalk/street. It doesn't matter which side of the politics those polluters fall on, anyone will have a hard time reasoning with a cigg smoking polluter.Comment

While I can't stand people whom litter either, there is only so much you can do. For example I'm parked right now at the end of a street in Denver. There is a sign right behind me that says $750 dollar fine for dumping. Despite the risk of such a high fine, there is stuff dumped all over. People just don't care. The worst thing is there is a public landfill probably 5 miles from here. Then that's where the debate should be. I mean really Litter is something that really pisses me off because it's just pure laziness and really there is zero excuse for it. The worst is going to a national park and seeing plastic bottles thrown on the ground or other random trash, even with trash cans around. The sad fact is , that many people just don't give a dam unless it's in their back yard.In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment
