While not quite as emotionally moving as we've seen in past season enders I did find it to be an exceptional setup for all that is to come next season...which of course is what a great season finale should do.
For those who haven't read the books this was probably pretty epic. For those of us who have, the satisfaction comes from knowing that they were (mostly) dead-on true to at least the major parts of the story, but also the subtle differences from the books they did take license with. Because for me anyway if they simply followed the books and their every nuance then I might have really regretted reading the damn books so far ahead, and watching the series would bring no surprise at all.
Fact is they seem to do the differences so well that I'm finding I don't mind them at all. I also understand certain omissions, like there being no "pretty pig" for example. I'm interested to see where they go with Tyrion because of that, and can imagine what a nightmare it might have been to have to try and recreate dwarves riding pigs instead as opposed to the much easier yet still entertaining way they did do it.
Now.... the longggg long wait until next year.

Lots of changes , for example in book he confess to brother that he killed Jofrey (to hurt him). But i like it this way, great show!

I almost gave up on the series when the red haired bitch shit out a black ghost and it killed the other king.

I was disappointed with the Hound and Arya. I really thought they were going to have a special moment where they show some affection for each other. I think he cared for her and wanted to protect her.
I was also disappointed with the conversation between Jon Snow and that Wildling guy who was captured. Fucking gay. Like that guy would give two shits about Jon Snow's relationship with Ygritte.
On a side note, I am eskimo brothers with Joe Gatt the guy on on the left.

The guy playing the hound deserves an Emmy nomination. He carried a lot of the tone this season and was brilliant in his final scene.
Also very glad the skeleton army was done well, if done badly that could have been horrendous.Comment

That always annoyed me in the books. Jaime just freed him.. it seemed pointless to lie to him. I was so glad it was changed to be less stupid.
Varys getting on the ship was interesting, shame they didn't show why he was such a good spy with his secret false walls etc. Brienne vs the Hound was fought so well I didn't mind it didn't happen. It's strange stuff from book 3 is going to be happening in season 5 and stuff from the later books is happening in season 4 but GRRM never kept his books exactly sequential with half the stories in one and the other half in the next etc.
Bit disappointed by tree man essentially being an old dude on a root-throne rather than part of the root system like the tree is feeding on him, especially after an epic skeleton fight that was done so well. The only thing wrong with it is the skeletons made the earlier wights seem lame in comparison if I was the others I'd have sent a lot more ninja skeletons against the crows heh.
They didn't spend enough time with dondarrion etc to bring lady zombie into things. They really needed at least another episode or two this season. Things seemed a little fast. I can't worry about lady zombie too much when a ton of stuff that happened to Jon in book 3 is still aways from happening.Comment

Well, Stanis made reference to something like 7 or 8000 captives, did he not? He asked Mance if he would surrender or not, and that the lives of his men hangs in the balance. Mance said "We're northmen, we don't surrender"
He was asked again, and he replied "We don't surrender"
As to the rest of his 100,000 horde, we can only assume they either ran or... surrendered. :D
