Slovakian and Czech are quite far apart... I can have a normal fluent conversation with someone from slovakia but not from CZ.

BTW, slavic languages are polish, czech, slovakian, croation, slovenian, ukrainian, russian, etc. It's a big language group, not just those two.

That's totally correct and when I visited Poland I found out it's better to try to speak Slovak instead of English and they understand without a problem.

Realy?Of all slavic languages polish seems to me hardest to me,and overuse of W is so annoying.
Perhaps difference between slovak and cz is like difference of Croatian and slovenian.

Polish is ridiculously fucked up... We have something like 17 gramatical forms of the word "two"... "w" is used just like "v" in other languages. If I had to say anything in it was overused it would be ę and ą.
