Fucking AAAAAAAA!

My best friend had a pit and raised it right. Nicest dog around and would only turn defensive if someone ran up that the dog didn't know unannounced and once ya told her they were cool she would chill out. When my daughter was a baby dog would sit close to her and guard her while she was sleeping, if she started crying dog would come and grab me. Nice dogs and very protective of those that raise it correctly. :2 cents:

Treat your kids right and they grow up good adults. Smack the shit outta your kids and they will smack the shit out of their own as well. All in how ya raise them.

Please explain how you can train the genetic history / the fighting gene out of a dog?

Look who's asking. You like to ignore decades of selective breeding done specifically to make these dogs non aggressive towards humans. So, hardheaded dumbass, how do you train genetic history out of a dog?

They are an increasingly aggressive breed, thanks to the dipshits who mistreat them and train them to be aggressive because they think it's cool. My ex had a bully and I have never met a sweeter, more well trained dog in my life. He learned sign language as well as numerous tricks. It all depends on the owner :2 cents:

Charge the owner the exact same way as if they had done the damage themselves. Simple.

I grew up raising dogs. We had many dogs, sometimes a dog is just mean. It is either put down or moved to a job where mean is wanted.

You people put too much value on the dog. They are wild animals we domesticated to keep us safe at night. Help us hunt down large prey. etc

Don't get me wrong the dog was still a bad ass. But around me, friends, my kid or people it knew total sweetheart. If I was walking with my kid and you came running up behind us yeah your ass would be done unless I told her it's cool as very protective of people they care about but not gonna start eating my kid unless I starve the fucker and beat it continually or train it to be an evil bastard. :2 cents:

easier as ya don't have to take them outside but the litter box in the house and the shedding kills them for me.

my dog is on a few 'no' list as well.... mainly from size I guess....he's about 160-170.. very sweet though ann very timid most of the time...

Humans have created dog breeds by emphasizing desirable traits and eliminating unwanted ones. It is no different with pit bulls. In the same way that Labradors were bred to retrieve birds, pit bulls were originally bred for dog fighting and bull and bear baiting.

Idiots who think they are just like any other little doggie and its the owner are the only ignorant ones. Some dogs were bred for hunting, some dogs were bred for herding, pits were bred for fighting and killing.

Having owned dogs my whole life I used to think the same, until a friend of mine had a neighbor with 2 pits. One night while he was sleeping those fucking dogs busted completely through a 6ft wooden fence to get in his yard, went into his house through the dog door, killed his border collie and started attacking him in his own bed. Lucky his 20 year old kid was there or they would have killed him. Of course his neighbor said 'they were so sweet, they would never hurt a fly'. Anyone that defends these dogs are fucking clueless.

Oh my God... This is just sad. If you like those dangerous dogs, keep them in your yard, don't let them on the streets where they can hurt some innocent creature like this poor girl is... :(

True, and not just anyone should be able to adopt a pit. Just like firearms (in some states), breeds should be regulated according to the person's background.
