CONFIRMED: Concealed carrier engaged shooters in Las Vegas (Nevada)

Thanks to an inside source at Las Vegas Metro Police Department, we have confirmation that a concealed carrier exchanged fire with the two shooters yesterday.

For those unaware of the story, two LVMPD officers were shot and killed by a couple while eating lunch at CiCi's Pizza. One of the officers was attacked from behind while refilling his drink and died instantly. The second officer was then engaged by the woman and suffered multiple gunshot wounds while returning fire.

The killers stripped the officers of their weapons and ammo and calmly left the restaurant toting large black bags. While walking past a witness stated said they just killed two cops and crossed the parking lot toward Walmart to continue their rampage.

"We saw when the man was walking, he was shouting, yelling bad words, and suddenly he had a gun," she told the station. "It was terrible, it was terrible. That man was crazy," said Pauline Pacheco who fled the Wal-Mart with her father after seeing the gunman.

As the man and woman approached Wal-Mart they were confronted by an armed citizen. The concealed carrier drew his handgun and exchanged gunfire with the couple. It is unclear if the concealed carrier wounded either of the shooters.

What is clear is that the concealed carrier slowed the couple's entry to the store giving police additional moments to arrive, saving an untold number of lives inside.

When police did arrive, the couple briefly shot at them before fleeing into the store. The woman then shot the man before turning her gun on herself, ending their "revolution".

The officers bodies were escorted by motorcade and met by an honor guard en route to the coroner's office. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of Officer Alyn Beck and Officer Igor Soldo and to the entire Las Vegas Metro Police Department.

Our prayers also go out to the family of the still unidentified concealed carrier and his family and friends.

To all of our friends in blue, stay safe and stay alert.

So.... In Vegas we have an armed citizen who failed to stop two cop killers, while in Seattle on a college campus we have an "unarmed building monitor" who takes down a gun man who shot four people?

So wait, the gun toting hero got killed and didn't even hit them in his shoot out? Perhaps he was one of those whom should of left his gun at home..

It sucks when crazy people attempt to ruin it for the rest of us!

WDF 06-09-2014 06:21 PM

Have you ever tried shooting at a moving target that was not shooting at you?

When it shoots back the difficulty levels get multiplied by hundreds of thousands. Normally because now you and the target are both moving and avoiding the others bullets.

Try going to a combat pistol range and running it once or twice.
It is no where as easy as it looks, a decent score requires a great deal of skill and training, like any other sport or competitive activity.

I didn't say anything was equal.

An unarmed "hall monitor" took down a gunman who had killed one and shot three others, while a man armed with a hand gun couldn't hit the side of a barn ended up getting himself killed for no reason.

People think that firearms "empower" them and make them stronger than they really are. These people watch way too much fucking TV. If this man didn't have a firearm he would be alive today; Instead of being one of forty witnesses to a shooting he instantly made himself a target and he got shot and killed because of it.

Truth be told... It's surprising he got a shot off. More than half of us wouldn't have been able to.

This is the kind of shit that sounds good in theory but is completely idiotic. Worse, it would takes only a handful of minutes to verify just how stupid this line of reasoning is. A few minutes on Google by someone that actually gave a shit to educate themselves over pulling bullshit data out of their ass, is that too much to ask?

You sure do sound so morally superior to all of those stupid gun owners though.

I agree, shooting at stationary paper targets with ear plugs and eye protection doesnt prepare anyone for shit.

Umm no that did not happen.

Emma 06-11-2014 12:33 AM

The only thing that will stop these shootings is the banning and confiscation of every single gun in the U.S. with the exception of law enforcement.
