Any GFYers Near This Beach In California?

I hear Shell Beach is a great place to catch some rays

http://www.thewestwire.com/radiation...ifornia-coast/

May 30th, 2014-An alert-level amount of radiation was detected on the California coast. The measured level of 152 Counts Per Minute (CPM) which is a method meant to quantify the background levels of radiation utilized by the sensor network monitored by the Radiation Network.

As reported by the Radiation Network, the alert area originates from Shell Beach area, which has been reporting alert-level readings frequently within the last few days:

After a 4 to 5 day interval of subsided readings, Shell Beach has returned to sustained elevated readings above 100 CPM, and issuing Radiation Alerts. The PRM-9000 was relocated to a new apartment in the same complex, next to an open window to rule out possible detection from any radon accumulation inside the apartment, and away from any stone countertop or collecting air filter. Station operator had submitted documentation of earlier elevated readings to nearby Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, but no response yet.

To get a better picture of the type of monitoring system that is being utilized by this amateur network of radiation monitors, watch this following video.

While the Radiation Network is reporting Alert Levels other monitoring groups, such as the Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center, are not showing such levels on any of their monitoring stations as of yet.

Monitors vary in location from network to network, but collectively contribute to a general sense of regional levels, which can be haphazardly averaged by surveying the many available sensor locations throughout these networks. This alert level reading may just be a very localized phenomena, rather than an emerging concern which would affect the region as a while.

oh fucking wonderful I live just a couple miles from Shell Beach
There really isn't much "beach" at the city of Shell Beach, it's up on a bluff.

Thankfully the water is too cold to go in, only a few surfers brave enough.

On the positive side maybe this will drive all the asshole tourists away and I can have my town back, I think I'll have some warning flyers printer up.

Your talking to someone that lived a few feet from a nuclear reactor for 3 years. You think fish scare me?
You'll have to do better than that.

I like your attitude to this Vendzilla In fact many more people will take the same approach when they see Japan win the upcoming soccer World Cup with their newly evolved strength, speed and flying ability.
