1576 (Condom Bill) Passes CA Appropriations Committee. Your Take?

Just posted on AVN today:

After nearly an hour and a half of hearing testimony from both supporters of AB 1576, the mandatory "barrier protections" in porn bill, and its opponents, the California Assembly's Appropriations Committee, chaired by Mike Gatto, passed the bill, though with several "nay" votes. It will now go to the full California Assembly for consideration, though just when that will occur, since the legislature is due to be on recess beginning on May 27, is not yet known.

I asked a couple of people that know how CA government works and the timeline on this for next step. Now it goes to the full assembly and then to the governor's desk. A process that will go "pretty quickly" I am told.

So, if (or when) this goes through, what's your take on what will happen in California as far as porn production?

possible scenarios....

- Everyone complies and re-trains consumers that condoms are good and wholesome things that they really DO want to see in their porn? (Apple and Google Android did that with smart phones and eventually buried blackberry)

- Some comply, some shoot at the Motel 6 bareback with cell phones and GPS turned off?

- An exodus to Vegas? (which is not a great idea as that town is pretty heavily regulated already and probably not going to appreciate busloads of pornstars coming into town for very long)

Crystal ball time, gang!

I just hope 50 studios don't set up shop here in New Hampshire. That would all go very badly very soon for a variety of reasons.

That's the way to go for sure.... affordable housing here, less traffic, easy access to talent, makeup artists, support staff etc.

I honestly hope it spreads out, a little here, a little there. Not all to one place. The whole country needs to lax up a bit and that would help get more places cool with it when there were multiple states with profitable porn centers. And now the other states will see how much tax money they are missing out on.
