Yes of course. I pay 6% tax of all my earnings. Actually I could not pay anything at all and get the same medical treatment here. This is how the health care works in Russia. Believe me or not but that's true.

And in the rest of europe too ...

That's depends on what do you mean on "wait". The emergency will be there within minutes (there is a regalement for that). In case of pain you'll get an anesthetic injection and will be transferred to a hospital. Course if is that just an ankle (not a spine etc), you'll have to wait for some time (perhaps up to a hour or two). You'll get an X-Ray and wait for a doctor.

That's my point. You will wait if it's not an emergency. My dad got really ill on xmas day and his blood pressure was dangerously low. We called 911 and they were there within mins and took him to a local hospital and he was admitted and cared for. I really could care less what others from other countries think about canadian healthcare. I have had nothing but positive experiences. Yes we pay for our healthcare through taxes but we still pay less than we would to private insurance companies.

I don't even know who that is.

Just common sense tells me that there is NOTHING "free". Somebody pays for it.

So no...I'm a "use your brain" fan. :)

P.S. I know that my country and government are fucked up, but when I read the posts like this, I begin to doubt..

It is in the US. Had I been able to get in to see my regular doctor the cost would have been about half that, but since my regular doctor couldn't see me I had to go to urgent care because I was coughing so much I couldn't function.

I think the medication ended up costing me close to another $100. So my total costs were in the area of $540 and in the end all they really gave me was stuff to help with getting rid of the mucus and a cough syrup.

Yep, small businesses with lower then 60 million RUB (almost equal to 2 million dollars) in revenue may choose to pay only 6% tax on the income or 15% on the profit.
