Business thread: What do you do to improve your upload speeds from home? My max is 5Mbps

I have Time Warner Cable and the max they allow is Upload speeds up to 5Mbps
I'm uploading a lot of video and it can take forever just to upload a 4 minute video. What do you guys do to improve your upload speeds?

Is my only option to call and upgrade to a business account, was wondering if theres anything I can do to improve my speed without changing my account.

there isn't much you can do...

if you have to do it daily - you should upgrade to save on time or you can upload during the night...

you can go somewhere where the speed is really good (some public network, cafe, library) and upload from there. In this case watch out for security and use secured protocol.

I'm in NYC and have Time Warner, too. I also have full-time Uploaders in the Phillipines with upload speeds of like 2mb.

So I upgraded to a biz account and now have 50mb i think. Maybe 25, gotta check. But it's SO MUCH faster now that I laid off one uploader and that saves me double what I'm paying for the upgrade.

Go for it. Your time is worth more than your money.

There is really not much else you can do if your isp is the bottleneck othet than upgrading.

Have you tried multiple simultaneous uploads? Sometimes a single stream is limited by factors beyond your local internet link.

If you're already getting 500-600kytes/sec with a single upload then you probably are hitting the local link capacity.
