I would do the opposite - three 1 week vacations instead of one 3 week. Reason is simple - this way you get much more rest, as one week is fully enough to relax from work.
Meaning you would get 3 breaks instead of just 1 per year.
This is what I strongly believe and preach to everybody. 1 + 1 + 1 is way better than just 3 in a row.

See, that doesn't work for me. 1 week *isn't* enough to fully relax, I need at least 2 otherwise it really feels like things are cut short.

Besides that I won't be able to do a proper trip through many time zones in just 1 week. If you want to see something of the world 1 week won't cut it.

3 weeks is impressive considering you've only been at Payserve a few months. I saw something on TV awhile back where an HR VP said employees should avoid taking long vacations (more than 2 weeks) because companies will try to find someone else to fill your duties while you're away. If you're away too long, they may find they really don't need you and eliminate your job.

How much do you relax after 1 week? Even if not fully, maybe 2 not fully is better than 1 fully relaxed?
Lets say it takes you 2 weeks to 100% relax and 1 week makes you relax up to 90% (meaning not fully, but pretty good). Maybe 2 times * 90% relaxation is better than 1 time of 100% and then no second time.
2 times 90% is better than 1 time 100% and 1 time 0%.

Beijing is awesome, unless the air quality is bad, we lucked out.
Be prepared to walk a lot when you go to the forbidden city and the Great Wall.
Make sure to have Peking Duck there, it is the place it was invented and the meal we had was really good!

Havent had a two week vacation since 1995. That was before we had kids.

I would never plan a long haul trip on just a couple of weeks it just doesn't seem worth it. For me, I need 3 or 4 weeks if I am sitting on a plane for 12 hours.

Admittedly whether I can take such vacations depends on work. Currently I am restricted to 2 weeks so local trips are the order of the day.
Hopefully next year I can push for a month. I will be back to Africa..

I am just back in Brazil and stayed 2 months on Bainaire before i came here.
I like to switch between Asia and Sout America, totally different.

I wanted to go to the Phillipines but there was a tornado so i go next year.

I have found 10 days is perfect for me, plus travel days :)

That being said, my last few 2-3 week trips were multi destination which got very tiring, maybe I'd change my mind if I spent a solid 20+ days in the same place.

i usually just take 10 days off a year to go somewhere at sea, i dont count that as vacation much as i look at it as a trip, because i often can afford my self to have a week of not working anything or too much. But this last 4 months are so stressfull and i had alot of things to do and took too much job that i couldnt refuse so i had no free days for a long time and some of the days i just spent working whole day. So after this i will take almost whole summer a vacation. I think three weeks is minimum that i wont accept any work. For the rest i will slowly prepare my self for future work in relaxing manner.

10-14 days if doing a long-haul trip. Going to start taking shorter short-haul breaks this year, as I need to explore Europe more.

Here, in Denmark, it is normal to have 3 weeks vacation during summertime. That is the longest i normally do, other than that 1 week trips, and extended weekends :)
On a yearly basis i have negotiated 37 days off in total, which is high, normally it is 30.
