I think the highlighted thread is a good idea, but implemented a bit differently, I'm thinking if we had a "highlight this thread" button right beside the "new thread" and "post reply" buttons, this way if there is a hot thread going on and lets say 10 members click on the "highlight this thread" it gets highlighted which gives us a heads up that this thread is a good read :thumbsup

interesting and useful...

Manfap 05-08-2014 06:14 AM

No.
Base it on posts of quality, not quantity.

bean-aid 05-08-2014 06:15 AM

Looks like my screen has shmegma on it... almost got the windex to clean it off.

American Psycho 05-08-2014 06:37 AM

This sucks. Reformat the whole server pls

CaptainHowdy 05-08-2014 06:38 AM

Classic GFY input :1orglaugh ... I don't mind it.

now is much better :)

SomeCreep 05-08-2014 08:01 AM

I saw a thread highlighted in red and it scared me. :(

Usernames with 25k posts or more should be able to put a hypertext link below their username, like "Bad dog" and "Juicylinks" have.

TurboAngel 05-08-2014 08:05 AM

I only see your threads are green.

edgeprod 05-08-2014 08:31 AM

It's an interesting experiment, but as others have said, highlighting should denote quality, not quantity. A reputation system add-on would probably be a welcome addition for many. Help sort threads and posts by reputation (karma) to separate the wheat from the chaff.

PornDude 05-08-2014 09:07 AM

Don't like it.

Where again do we buy Vbulletin bots, Juicy D.?

I think all of the ones I wrote are phpBB, with the exception of the GFY-specific one.

Emma 05-08-2014 09:36 AM

Colors are for kids only.

The Truth Hurts 05-08-2014 09:36 AM

while you're adding things.. how about a visited link color, and wrapping long text strings so they don't screw up the layout, and actually displaying images inline instead of an icon... all on mobile of course.

eroticfem 05-08-2014 09:47 AM

It will discriminate users that are not post whores, and has been on board for a long time with low post count. :1orglaugh

96ukssob 05-08-2014 10:00 AM

I love the idea. People with 10k+ posts are obviously better than people that do not have 10k posts, and we should be recognized for our greatness.

I agree.

I think it shouldn't be a post count thing more that a 5+ years on GFY.

Another thing that might be kinda cool is add a point or rank system to GFYers who actually attend shows. A combination, time, show attendance and positive GFY contributions= RESPECT in my book.

I do know for a fact, that the most successful GFYers and some of the best contributors, have less than 10K posts.

But then again, anyone who is anyone knows who is who and GFY and a highlight, rep system, won't change anything accept giving Trolls with 10K posts another tool to annoy others.

The rep thing was too much fun when that was out. All hell broke loose with "neging" people and "reping" people. I was in stitches with that time in GFY history.

Just Dave

DWB 05-08-2014 11:26 AM

I think it is a great idea, but it should be limited to ONLY people who can prove they are in the industry. Too many trolls have over 10k posts, and the will abuse and ruin it.

KickAssJesse 05-08-2014 11:28 AM

Maybe the entire block highlighted green would look better. The thread title field isn't colored green like the rest of the fields.

LeRoy 05-08-2014 11:29 AM

Green might not be the best choice. A lighter shade a grey perhaps?

Seeing what we can do to highlight most active threads.

Also discussing a Badge/Reward system.

Thanks to everyone for replying here - all feedback is helpful

I agree! :2 cents:

20k+ user and reg date 2004 or sooner (10 years)

but maybe just a bold user name and bold border lines. :pimp

There's no need for a user option to "Highlight this Thread". There's already a "Rate Thread" option above the first post in each thread.

xNetworx 05-08-2014 01:05 PM

you really want to highlight wehateporn's threads?

clickhappy 05-08-2014 01:07 PM

It would be better if people paid to have their threads highlighted, cuts down on the dumb posts, and its a way to get attention from the GFY community without buying a banner

As for colors: this is like an ugly diarrhea-green
if youre going to do it then I say gray or blue.

I like it, but I also agree that nickname would look more neatly. :2 cents:

StinkyPink 05-08-2014 02:21 PM

Yet another feature to enhance bros and trolls experience, not actual users with legitimate thread topics...

You weren't so mean when you were begging me for an invite to the magic castle and sucking up to me in London begging me to introduce you to people who might sponsor your JFK rip off site.

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

SekobA 05-08-2014 02:30 PM

its great idea but more than two colors no

Mark-G 05-08-2014 03:33 PM

I think making top 3 "hot" and RECENT discussions with special highlights is not a bad idea.

Don't really care for current color selection at the same time

BIGTYMER 05-08-2014 10:13 PM

I think the thread subject should also be highlighted?

RubyGoodnight 05-08-2014 11:47 PM

My first thought was that of all the things that could be done to improve the experience here, this is where the effort is going? Disappointing.

Nice_Nick 05-09-2014 02:09 AM

Can I suggest you don't use green or red. Perhaps yellow or blue.
